hi, i joined the forum a few months ago when i bought my sisley and have been pretty busy since. She was pretty rusted out with the doors front end and boot all needing attention but thats pretty much sorted now :)

Now i have been browsing the forum for quite a while i think mine is one of the original 500 sisleys. its a 1987 on a D reg and was metalic grey needless to say its not anymore. it also has the plain seat belts and cream interior etc.....

So after spending a few days welding and doing body work she was stripped and re-painted in a military sand colour. The intention is to have it looking like a bit of an offroad machine. Its going to be far from standard but at the same time not done over the top. i'll try and keep you updated as i get a bit more done. ive got a few pics from when i got her and will add the ones of the progress later when i get them on the pc.

cheers

firstly a roof rack of some sort i think will really give it more of an offroading look. i dont plan on any engine mods purely to avoid any problems in the future, umm a few spotlights on the bullbars etc.. tinted rear windows and smoked lights. all the bumbers and exterior plastics are going to be re-sprayed to tidy them up and bring them back to life.
It looks so different already with it being a different colour. will try and get a pick up asap but she is still pretty bare after it was stripped and painted. cant wait to put it all back together.

Doesn't matter what the car looks like right now. It's always interesting to see the stages as they happen. There are a few of us here with current projects and we like seeing what other people are doing too. Please keep us posted.

I'll certainly be following with interest.

:yeahthat:

I'm looking forward to some pics:yum::p

Those are pics of the panda how it is at the present moment, as you can see its just started to be put back together. last thing i did was finish off the wheels and lightly smoke the rear windows. hopefully within the next week or so i can get the rest of the plastics back on and can get some more pics up. :) (y)

Now its been confirmed its one of the originals does this make it alot rarer or only slightly ??
does it perhaps higher its value ?? not that she will be sold ofcorse.

cheers guys

haa yes the picture quality isnt the best i must say :p but you can start to see what she will be like.
Other thing you guys might be able to help me with is the handbrake and how to adjust it ? bceacause at the moment its pretty much non existant.

cheers

The picture below shows the handbrake mechanism:

With the car jacked up the adjustment rod (13) is easily visible. Loosen the rear nut of the two (16) then tighten up the forward nut to take up the tension on the handbrake cable. Do this with the handbrake off until the wheels are just starting to bind. Then do the rear nut back up to the front nut to lock it.

Yeah its actually military paint i managed to get hold of. Used by the military to paint all thier desert vehicles etc.. perhaps not to everyones taste but i think its pretty sweet.
:)
Thats excellent (y) i will get on and do that when i have a spare five minutes, cheers for that would have been ages trying to work it out without the help of some felow panda owners :worship:
