Punto (Mk2/2b) My Punto Mk2b.

Introduction

Right then, I have been on hear a while and own the car for about a year now and it is about time i started this thread so starting from the begining.

I bought the car completely standard and quickly invested in a badgeless front grill, Richbrook taxdisck holder and read universal mud flaps, along with getting rid of all those forcorte stickers.

After a while i then decided to have window tints put on and added a bee sting arial.

Then over the next four months i was busy and most noticeable i bought a set of Fiat 500 Abarth 16" alloys, Wind deflectors, The removal of side bump strips and badges, front punto mud flaps, TI Stickers, Colour coded wing mirrors and Wind screen wash nozzles, Side smoked indicator lenses and Aero wind screen wipers.

Finally i have know had 35mm Gmax lowering spring put on which has made a huge inprovement to handleing and looks of the car with picture to come.

So current car specification is:

Model : Fiat Punto Active Sport 3door
Engine Size : 1.2 8v
Year : 2005
Colour :Baltic Grey

STYLING MODIFICATIONS:

So what does everyone think?
look harder, mine is just about tip top and completely original, even has standard exhaust - but it does have a dump valve.. If you don't like them though just get a recirc valve instead, its no biggy.

i don't know what insurance group it is - it was 17 in the old ones that only went upto 20 but they changed it recently(ish) didn't they so there are more catagories

yeah i know what your saying, dont get me wrong id love a car with a dump valve but i dont want it to be all noise no speed if its got 1, or i might aswell get 1 of those box things that make a tssshh sound in my 1.2 aha not, but cat 17 sounds quite high, i think my 1.2 is like cat 5-7 lol

ill have another look

I know what you mean butcher, its the same with exhausts i think there is no point in haveing a realy loud exhaust if you dont have that much go. lol

blu73 your mk1 GT looks awsome im so jelous if i had the space and money i would definatly be looking at them. You have an amazin set of vehicals and impecible taste in cars (y)

haha sig worthy comment, thanks!

Dam it,

Was giving the car a good clean to day and came to the engine bay and notices oil down the front and rear of the engine. So i belive the rocker cover seal/gasget needs replaceing, so thats a job for this week. :bang:

How easy (or hard) is it to get rid of the warning stickers in the front side windows? Are they like a decal and just slide off with water or would they rip into little bits leaving sticky stuff on the window or what?

just peel them off on a window and use window cleaner and a cloth to get the stickyness off, then for sticker on paint work, the same but be more carefull not to scratch paintwork, and if the decal has been on there for years, use a hairdryer to warm the sticker up then slowly peel off and polish off the stickyness

Yer as Butcher said the security stickers on the fornt windows are simply like any other sticker and should just peal off if you can get a corner up with a finger nail and then after just give the window a good clean after.

Also good news guys the rocker cover gasget has been fixed just need to clean now as there is oil that has ran down the engine and made a rite mess. Would you belive it the garge wanted to charge me £75 to replace it so me and my m8 did it instead and it took less than an hour plus £6 for the gasget.

haha yer definatly not going to do. I can imagine so as it dint cost that much to have the front suspension fitted on mine.

So one bit of advice i definatly get out of getting that quote is dont be affrid to have a go.

Yer that is my problem at the moment this is my only car and it need to be on the road other wise i would get stuck in sand get my hand dirty more often as i love to find out how things work.

But with any luck when my girl friend get a full time job we will be getting another car and i think it will be another 1.2 8v punto active sport.
