Punto (Mk2/2b) My Punto 1.4 Sporting

Introduction

Here is my recently purchased car - it's in amazing condition and was a steal.

2004 Sporting 1.4 with 70k on the clock, full service history and no advisories on last 4 MOTs....

Interior is spotless just the left hand vent the plastic bits that are on a slant inside the outer bit are broken so will source a new vent and change it.

Hope you all like...

Something has been started here hasn't it :)

Have all receipts for the work and on the date that the services were done. it does have a sticker saying the timing belt was changed and it does look brand new.
The MOT's were VOSA verified by an independent garage and also had it checked over by the same guy who is a mechanic and friend of mine and he said all ok.

I imagine there are some jokers around that do that sort of thing but luckily I did cover my own back and scrutinized everything before buying it to make sure....

thing is, how can you say it 'looks brand new' when it is encased ? - I presume you have no receipt for that as you didnt mention it. ?
Also, the receipts need to be fully itemised to be meaningful and useful.
Vosa means absolutely nothing. it just records the milegaes 'recorded' on the MOT at that time. nothing to do with genuine or otherwise'
Yours is probably fine, it is the other total dreamers trying to get 40 and 50 k examples, they get ripped, as has been seen (and heard),
The software / hardware to clock these has been freely available since 2005 (you can dl it for free as we speak, you just need a elm327 unit with FTDI chipset for comms, that is it !.)
As with most hacking, it is often done by teenagers, 'kiddy scripting', as in most so called hacking it is childs play.
It is not even an offence to clock a car, if you dont want to see your mileage too high, simply wind it back prior to every mot :D... it is only naughty when you sell the car and dont say so.
Same as HPI was all the rage at one time, what a waste of time:rolleyes: didnt do jack for a ringer did it ?
The other thing for some of the dreamers is that very low mileage cars - IF they can find an actual example, which is unlikley but not impossible, it is likely to be a far worse buy than a vehicle that had higher moterway miles. The stop start kids to school run etc kills the engines faster than a bolton kwik fit apprentice :slayer:

i always thought that it is strange when people are selling cars and type it just had oil+ filters+ timing belt+water pump+ front brakes changed like few 1000 miles ago...

if you know the right people even mot certificate and receipts can be falsified, but that is a considered a crime for all parties involved and i know a few cases where people have been caught in falsifying receipts for the work that has never been done, they usually catch them all sooner or later
Exactly !!. enough miles so they dont look like new, enough miles to have 'lost the receipts'
Standard lies and cons. How many times you see a service book with all the same stamps / signatures / ink colour/aging :D :ROFLMAO:mao. Or, a major service done by a back street kwikfitter who then stamps the book, when all he did was polish the oil filter and wire brush the plugs(y). A quick engine bay clean and then pop a sticker on the cam cover, hey presto, Roberts yer Mother's brother !
I have known of used oil taken out of vehicles being reused in others !
How many times people fall for the oldest tricks in the book.
Always feel an engine prior to startup and test drive - you want it stone cold or walk away and make another appointment.
It is always good when you phone re a private sale to say "I am calling about the car", if they say "which one" YOU ARE DEALING WITH A BODGER.
an illegal trader who would stitch you nicely and smile all the way.
Buying from ANY dealer or trade seller, you are covered under the sale of goods act - the first 6 moths is the most realistic, the second 6 months the onus is on the buyer, not the seller.
There are serial car bodgers and sellers out there. Kwik fit auctions sourced lol

Buy on condition and pay on condition, dont pay on mileage or rubber stamps from a bolton bodger or ebay / youtube 'artist'.
