That car looks awesome mate :worship:

I might be down Bournemouth way soon with work, if you see someone standing by your car drooling, please dont call the police :D
Thanks mate (y)

I was at the dealers today and loads of people were looking at the car, I should charge Vauxhall when I park my car there :D Of course I was close by and I didn't take my eyes off them :)
Let me know when you're around here mate, maybe we can get a mini meet organised ;)

I had a few scratches on the rear wheel arch, not sure where from, it certainly wasn't me so I asked the dealers to take a look. They sent me straight down to the bodyshop and within ten minutes the car was back to perfection, no cost, no hassle, apart from everyone I deal with wanting to spend the afternnon talking about the car

:D
Cheers (y)

But .....

C'mon mate I need specifics :D

Any reason for disliking the mats ?
I need all the input I can get on these because I really aren't too sure myself. I put some red material around my mats today to see if they looked good in the flesh and it was ok but it's really hard to tell from that, hence the chop. I thought they really set the alloy pedals off nicely and brought out the red in the instruments and writing.

Well from the looks of it, theres hardly anything alse in the interior thats red! If the seats had red stitching or inserts, then...maybe. I just dont like the fully red mats, what about ones with a red edge- a bit like my vRS's (obviously different colour)

I have thought about having the red piping but you can buy mats like that in halfrauds so I was a bit dubious about it. Maybe if the red mats were broken up a bit with silver piping and an alloy heel pad :chin:

Edit : Other than the vxr logo on the stearing wheel and the red on the dials, the only other thing is the gear stick as seen here.

nice car just dont go too fast around corners saw it on top gear :p
and the top gear report is full of crap. What they failed to tell anybody was that the suspension system was not the one that would be released with the car, there was one in developement by lotus which is what has been used on the released car, that one on top gear was prerelease therefore it was unfair that they even done a review of the car based on that.. It's a known fact that the Lotus suspension is a massive improvement over the pre release rubbish. :p

Not completely true... The "VXR" used by TG was actually an SRI with the VXR engine, gearbox, brakes, bodykit and some random interior bits. TG was pushing Vauxhall to get a VXR ready for filming but as you said, it wasn't ready yet. So Vauxhall put some VXR stuff into an SRI but left the standard suspension on it etc hence the torque steer and bad ride quality.;)

Well that's even worse then isn't it. From what I have heard the top gear people refused to redo the review and they are using their experience with that car to judge it against all the other hot hatches, just goes to show how good the actual car is if the one they tested is holding it's own against the competition.

@ Pinin, that has to be sig worthy :D

Yes, I'm sorry, this thread is still going on  But wouldn't you rather that than a new thread every time I take a picture or video (y)

Anyroad, I have a sound file here of the exhaust. It's not a great one, for some reason it just wouldn't pop and bang on this occasion and the camera just would not pic up the deep tones, looks like I'll have to get some good recording equipment for that.

A couple more pictures too, I noticed I had no engine pics so I had to get one of those done :chin:

You can see the shap of the Milltek on that 2nd picture too.

I looked into getting some Wheels custom made for me. I found the perfect style for my car but they don't make them in the right size so I modded some wheels and gave the company a picture, they said they could make them for £600-700 per wheel. Which aint too bad really.

When you getting the remap done? Bet you cant wait  lol
Thanks mate (y)
29th of this month for the remap :D and no I can't wait :bang: 300 mile round trip to get it but worth it. I'll take the camera with me and get some pics and video. There's quite a few VXR's gonna be there for the Rollin road that day. Including some awsome sounding Monaro's

Best way is to get a RR print out so you can prove and know the power of your car kind of gives you piece of mind also that they have tuned your car spot on for you, look forward to a glimps of it then m8 :D

also milton keynes is a nice place plenty of shops for the misses to do some serious shopping and a cinema and a few other bits to keep the children happy (y)

That's cool mate cheers (y)
I'll be getting a before and after remap printout off the RR so that should be interesting. I should be close to 255bhp at this point so if I am not then there's a problem, then after the map it could be anywhere around the 290 area, although I have heard it takes a few hundred miles to settle down to the true figure ?

Talking of those Monaro's, here's a video of the VXR meet at the BTCC last weekend. You can tell which Astra vxr's have the full milltek system on, they sound a lot better :) http://media.putfile.com/btcc2

The oval tailpipe looks great! Id like one just like that on mine. We need sound clips while you're out driving giving it full revs :p

Have you done any induction mods?
Thankyou (y)

No mate, and I have been advised against induction mods ATM, apparently they are known to blow the Air Mass Metre on Turbo Vauxhalls. Thorney and Courtney Sports are trialling some now so I should know in the next few months.

I did have a video of driving givin it full revs but I can't find it for some reason. I'll get another one done sometime.

But here's a VXR Hooning toward Brands Hatch in the convoy and another one going into a tunnel. I must stress this is NOT me and the car is a standard 240hp VXR so it don't sound one tenth as good as mine :D

Hooning Convoy :D

Tunnel Hooning
