Hi i am back after a year of not logging in with some good news that I am the proud owner of a fiat punto gt turbo in midnight blue.

The car has 93k on the clock and was purchased for the price of £325

but only due to the turbo bearings are gone or serious shaft play. the car is basically standard apart from coupe leathers in the front a head unit and magnacor leads. nothing has been done don't the engine apart from a top end rebuild at 72k but no proof of this.

I am after a good direct replacement turbo or possibly a upgrade that don't cost a fortune and is a bugger it fit or need to be modified to fit.
I also wouldn't mind if its easier for me to just rebuild it my self but am not sure on what to do.
the car has come with a lot of spares like new front badge,3 bar fuel pressure reg, side skirts, door card cloth, fuel pump, various switches and loads more.

So if anyone could help me with where I can get a decent uprated turbo that don't need a load of money or work to be fitted.
or where I can get a good direct replacement or a decent rebuild kit.
any tip on what I can check when I can have a look over it when I have a bit of time to my self cheers luke

Very tidy and the best colour (426a).

As for a cheap turbo, this is one of those occasions in life where you can do it cheap or right.

There are some being broken for parts on eBay but check the classifieds here first. ;)

fingers99 when i said "but I am not sure on what to do" I ment by this as wether I should get a rebuild kit or a new unit. I am fully qual mobile mechanic and can rebuil a turbo I am not asking how I asking advice on where to get new unit or rebuild kit.
Liquid Knight it a nice colour but mine has had a respay and all the tape of lines are poo so spray all on the window seals and black trim.

I honestly doubt you can rebuild and balance it yourself.

IHI turbo? you might try turbo technics. Parts are less commonly available that the Garret stuff, but should be out there. Frankly, unless you're going for tuning (in which case I'd rebuild the engine first!), a rebuild will be your best bet. But there should be plenty of GT25s out there -- see the link I posted. Be sure that there still exists some way of setting up the ancient ECU for fuelling, etc. first.

cheers for the link fingers I have already come across that page which has some very good info and added to my favs

but have also been having a look on line and came across that a t25 of a silvia s13 will fit the punto manifold and can get a cheap 12 month warrantee one for £180 posted.

I have seen on the punto sport page that this turbo bolts up to the fiat mani but have not found out about the down pipe and unsure if that's the same.
just had another look in the spare box that came with the car and a walbro fuel pump in like new condition
