Punto sporting? Like the 8v only fast with plenty of toys.
Great on fuel/tax and insurance too.
The mk2b sporting is even better, like an HGT junior. (only 1 sec off 0-60)

. Was a fun little car and the engine is very open to modifying as long as it isn't forced induction. Thats because it runs a very high compression and big stroke and is a aluminum block. It can be quite easily modified to 130-140bhp if your willing to spend the £'s.

Well I got mine to roughly 125-130bhp margin my performance mods where:
Fast road cams, lightened balanced botom end inc flywheel, ported flowed and smoothed head, titanium valve springs, pipercross viper induction kit (custom ram cold air intake), Supersprint stainless straightrough exhaust head to back with de-cat (was still MOT legal! :slayer. Put a remap / chip in their and your talking 140bhp but I didnt get chance to do that .
All that above cost me roughly £1000ish the most expensive was the labour intensive tasks like the lightening and balancing. It was well worth it though it had a mighty induction roar similar to that on a BMW M3 I was comming through a tunnel and let it rip in second and got pulled over by cops at the overside and he said your car sounds amazing just like my M3 at home, what you packin under that bonnet. Thinking about the engine noise still makes me all warm inside .

Why on earth did you sell it after doing so many quality mods??? And I thought the 6 speed 'box couldn't take more than 120bhp.

Sweet, i would sell my hgt and buy a mk2b sporting anyday. Shame there are never any for sale in scotland

It couldn't lol I broke a syncro ring and a cog while owning it but I think I got a weak gear box. It got replaced on warranty which rules! :slayer:. I sold it to get a Fabia vRS as I was getting 28mpg combined with my driving lol and was doing about 26000miles a yr at the time (my gf lived 25 miles away) and couldnt afford it.
