If anyones following the recent trials and tribulations with my jtd30 ( gearbox broke, found gearbox in newcastle, couriers lost gearbox, AA paid for gearbox repairs etc) heres an update.

It and me were in the Daily Express yesterday (Wednesday 18th October) page 39 if anyones interested - although you can't see much of the car.

I've now treated it to new front drop links. They were fun to fit. Althougth the new ones were the type that you put an allen key in to stop it turning while you take of the nut, the old ones were not. They had an attached 'washer' with two flats to put a spanner on - so thin the spanner doesn't stay on very long. Even better than that the one on the drivers side was different to the one on the passenger side. Even the coarseness of the thread was different so I couldn't re-use the nuts. I don't usually re use nuts but guess what. My local fiat dealer (arnold clarke) doesn't stock the 19pence nuts needed. So my car was off the road for the sake of 38 pence. Luckily I've kept hundreds of nuts over the years and after trying loads I actually found the only two I had which were the right size.

Anyway the jobs done now and there a definite improvement.

Now to fix the dodgy front electric window.....
