Punto (Mk2/2b) My Latest - '04 Punto MultiJet HGT

Introduction

Picked up today, and after a 2 hour drive back from Wolverhampton I'll just say :slayer:

Much more mature than the Seicento, not as fun yet but maybe it'll just take some getting used to after a teeny petrol engine.
Plans?
Maybe some chromed steelies, deep dish/banded? Lowered a little, remapped and fit the BMC CDA I have lying around.

I've nicknamed it "The Croatian" because of its number plate :D
Yep, that's the one :)
There's a blue one in the classifieds on here but I couldn't get finance for it, I think it's still available :)

Yeah Iv seen that one as well, Its too far, about 3 and half hour drive plus not too keen on the colour if it was black yeah defiantly. :D

Don't worry, nothing wrong with the car, there was a cockup with the finance and I've not been able to secure the funds elsewhere so they're having to take it back :(

If you call the dealers and ask to speak to Stuart, let him know that you found out about the car from me (Frazer) through the forum, I already put an FF sticker in the rear window so hopefully they'd leave it if they knew it was another enthusiast coming to look at it. They're arranging to collect it this week I think, so hopefully you'd be able to get a look at it soon.
I will say that it drives perfectly, the only things I'd maybe try to get money knocked off for (which I didn't notice until recently) is the crack in the centre console (near the CD changer), the passenger side vent centre being broken (might just need reconnecting) and the CD changer is very tempramental.

yeah I thought it would something to do with that. How much did you get the car from the garage, did you get it at there asking prize?

Crack in the centre console?? and what do you mean by the CD changer very temperamental?

I will phone tomorrow morning first thing, Iv only got £3000 which I got for my car that got scraped :(.

Thanks for info mate. (y)

Good Luck.

I went at the asking price as tbh I thought it was very reasonable for age/mileage.

The crack is quite small, I'm at work just now but will try to get a picture later. It looks like someone has taken the CD changer out and tried to force it back in too hard. As far as tempramental goes, 90% of the time it is fine but every so often it will fail to load a CD and then won't eject, play or load any of the discs in it. Usually it sorts itself out after a wee while but it's a pain in the arse.

This whole situation is going to make the car look like it's had loads of owners (5 according to V5) but the first owners were a garage who used it as a demonstrator, the 2nd owner had it until last year when it went to another garage who registered it but then it looks like it was never sold, then Autosales got hold of. Including me, that makes 5 owners but really only 2 have actually used the car.

Hmmm I wonder why would want to take out the cd changer in the first place  . Hopefully it shouldn't be hard to get it fixed. 5 owners ?? There be a problem while selling this car and even if i tell them there were really 2 owners not like they would believe me lol. Never mind but every thing else Bodywork is in mint condition right? ABS is working and every thing? as long as that is all cool then Im not really bothered since these cars a rare to find.

They should lower the prize you think 3 grand is alright?

Bodywork perfect, no warnings on dash, brand new battery just been fitted and it's just had a service, all brakes and tyres got plenty of life left. I don't think they'll take £3k tbh but that's just my opinion, good luck with it anyway :)

Thats sounds cool :D , How much was the car on originally 3500? Ill give them a call and mention the names and see what they say, Ill defiantly buy it. Hopefully i should get it for 3 grand, still have to pay deposit for my insurance 300£ :(. really need a car its awkward without a car.

Thanks! (y)

They had it on for £3,991, hence why I'm thinking £3k will be lucky since higher mileage examples are recommended to sell for about £3.7k.

Oh damn I thouhgt it was on for around 3500, Iv only got 3 grand and plus the insurance ... have they fixed a date to pick up the car?

Not yet, I only spoke to the salesman at about 4pm but he said he'd get back to me today (Tuesday). They'd better be collecting it before Friday though or I'll be in Scotland, lol.

I need the car asap, let them know that your going scotland and they should collect it asap. Im going to phone them tomorrow and speak to the guy you told me to.

Phoned them today, they collecting the car today (Wednesday) I told him about the cracks and problems he said he will have a look at the car. I'm ready to pay 3500 you think that's reasonable hence the problems ?

You'll have to make your own mind up about that when you see it mate, I'm crap at pricing cars so tend to just go with whatever the dealer tells me

Edit: The service indicator flashed up this morning as well, it's had a full service already so ask them to reset that.

Hmm Yeah just make sure you list them all the problems (y)

I hope they agree to 3500 I think that's reasonable offer hence all the problems you told me.
