Ducato Fiat Ducato 2.8 multijet campervan

Introduction

Hi All
New to Fiat and new to Camper vans. Really cool site and hope to learn a lot about my Ducato 2008.

First fixer was theStarter - fixed and runs like a charm
Next will be Waterproofing engine( I suspect windscreen drains and screws). I don't like water In my engine area
Hello,

Check for threads on water ingress on the x250. There should be numerous threads on that problem here and on different motorhome forums. The problem is the same for all triplets produced since 2006 until 2014. They improved it a little bit with the facelifting (when switched the model to x290).

Thanks for sharing the insights. Will definitely be looking into this

Typo in title. It is indeed a 2.3.
I fitted a clear perspex cover over the engine, that directs any water out over the front grill. I also repaired the drain tube and extended it. Works a treat.
Would love some pics of the perspex.
Optimally I would like to identify all entry point but maybe that is a lost cause and this solution will have to suffice.

Yes I'm going to extend the drain as well since water currently exits directly midway through(don't know what previous owner was thinking)
Also the bottom plastic part of the windscreen I will seal with sealant since there is a lot of gaps.

Thanks. Simple but effective. Also shows the extended drains🙏
Maybe you should look into securing that +Positive area with the fuse box(right side) . I luckely have my air intake(in the hood) on the left side but I do see some water drops coming from the rubber area where it closes.

Great Vehicle. My Fiat Ducato has a problem. Often when rushing to start vehicle I jerk vehicle causing Strip Fuse to blow on the battery. Any advice please what causes this issue. My Fiat is the 120 Multi Jet 2013 Model Ducato Maxi Converted to a motor home with so many issues to sort out.

Never rush a diesel is what I was taught growing up🙄 I'm not a mechanic my self, but if you have the correct AMP on your fuse I would try disconnecting stuff to see if I could narrow down the issue. If possible changing the starter motor or at least check the wiring. New one cost around 150 euro.
