Yeah mate all my wires were different :/ if you look at the comments on the page there is a link to another guide, I used that. The guy spoke bad english but you can get his drift

RyanBox - cheers mate, really couldn't get much from that though! Very annoying as I can see that he has the same cables as me, I can nearly taste it and I know that it's worked for you! SO desperate for help here

Ok ill try and explain... here we go.

1. Take your passenger side plug and trim away the clip on the top that keeps it in place, then rotate it 180 degrees and attach to the evo light cluster (not using the pin at the very left of the cluster).
2. Now get your drivers side and copy what is done in the picture below. Same again trim the clip of the top of the plug and then attach it to the evo cluster.

Now this should be working, but with a light on you dashboard. This is because the led is not drawing enough power so the car thinks the bulb has blown

1)Unscrew ordinary rear lights from chassis
2)Unclip white (plug?) with 4 cables from original lights

Then it's at this point that I'm not sure - on the photo in the guide you linked me and just used as a thumbnail, what is that metal tooth on the far left and how did he move it there?

Do this only on the drivers side. Get a small screwdriver and poke the metal contact out and remove that wire from the plug, then simply tape it to the left hand side of the plug with black insulation tape.

Ah ****e, see I had no idea that you treat the driver's side differently to the passenger's - thanks mate. Don't think I'm ready to install yet!

Cut away the clip on the plug then rotate it 180 degrees and insert it into the evo cluster not using the pin at the very left, this is because the GP plug is 4 pins and the EVO is 5 pins.

Is the clip that I cut off both times just a white plastic row of teeth on the top of the plug? And is the 'evo cluster' the socket in my evo light that I plug the wires into?

Okay guys so my new Punto badge arrived today so I got to take off the old, aged one and update the look a little bit. I like little jobs like this, they make all the difference.

Yes mate! I followed your instructions and got them in this morning couldn't be happier! Thanks so much for your advice, couldn't have done it without you! Thought I should just pack it in the other night, very glad I didn't!
