Whats your excess?

although thinking about it it might only be £250 now that i am 25?? i dunno now i will have to look at paperwork tonight now!

Mines quite low as its kept in a private gated car park with CCTV at night.

Butlers and the like? Where's the Aston? I'll swap my FIAT for it

Looks sweet. Go one up on your mate and get a linea grille. Make sure you get it lowered too :D

There's why Insurance companies dont like 17 - 18 year olds in a nutshell.

Girls just dont have the testosterone that makes lads think they are a racing driver because they bought a car & passed their test.

I know many lads of all ages race but at 17 - 18 with no experience?

I'm no killjoy, been there and done it all, but a 19 year old lad from Telford Krooze was killed this weekend racing allegedly... I can imagine the torture his parents are feeling right now... and for what? :(

LOL especially as most of them have 1.2's that aren't fast lol. my insurance is £2.2k and £700 excess, with a named driver on my policy. lol.

You do know that those 2yrs ncb will only apply to that company and if you were to go anywhere else you would only get 1 year.

I had a bonus year's NCD when I started driving. It was recognised by other companies. The insurer at the time just issued my renewal notice with 2 years on, at the end of the first year. I was then able to go elsewhere. This is why I have 6 years' NCD and I have only been driving 5 years :D

I only have a £100 exccess... im not sure why, my old man sorted it out 4 me ;-)

Only a £100 excess?? He must be expecting you to have to pay it some time soon lol. Joking of course.

I would check that excess amount out if I were you mate. He may have set an excess at £100, but the chances are - that was the voluntary excess part. You will have a compulsory excesses to add on the top of this figure. The compulsory excesses on policies are normally quite high for young drivers (around the £400 mark) and I would be really surprised if this was not part of your policy.

For example - my voluntary excess is £100. My compulsory excess is £260 making my total amount £360 in the even of an accident claim. The voluntary excess will apply to any fire/theft claims and there will be a separate amount to be paid for glass damage (probably aroun 60-70 squid).

Gets even more complicated on my policy as Mrs Garree001 is older than me, so her excess is even less than mine, even though it's the same cover note!

Hope I made sense there!
