Grande Punto My Black Tjet

Introduction

My Black Tjet Project

Thought id show how my little tjet has progressed over the last 2years :)
(bare with me ill be editing this post for a while as i get used to it lol)

I did pretty much nothing to the tjet for a year,

Firstly im not much into ICE installs, so in the audio front i only added a pre-amped subwoofer in the back, 10inch fusion tube type, the reason because it came with a remote and its suprisingly powerfull and being that it has a hard shell the boot is still very useable!

Next i got a Red GSR induction, not any power gains but the sound is worth it ;)

Soon after my custom cat-back exhaust from Torque Exhausts in enfield, again power gains wernt noticeable, i asked for a 2 and 1/4 inch bore straight threw pipe and sound wise i wanted the rally pops and crackles and a nice burble on idle and they provided (y) finished with a twin 3inch tips.

Bell/admiral are very good but tend to give better discounts through comparison sites.
Im with one of the ones through the forum as they were slightly cheaper with lower excess although the discount only applies if your over 25.

Shes booked in for the exhaust repair and the remap on monday :D

will get the graphs wheel and flywheel results before and after and i shall post, if im not out driving everywhere :p

Ha doesn't work like that! Just means its more attractive to thieves now and if you bin it then more expensive for them to fix!

Insurance has gone up in general this year so don't expect any massive difference.

tis a shame im far more carefull nowdays since i put the hours in i think!

have you changed the boost sensors?

Why? he doesnt need too.

i havent no, the boost sensors are really needed but if you can theyre a good idea, as the stock sensors really limit the boost pressure, 'benpunto' on here changed them and saw good boost pressure results on the standard actuator, just in my book for the £230 they cost its not worth it!

Will be good to see the results from the remap and rolling road.
I've enjoyed reading this thread so far.

im excited because ive waited for ages to get to this point and worried as the result might be rubbish :(

i didnt know many people actually read my thread lol :slayer:

Nice thread mate, I think I have seen you around Harlow, the car looks great! I have got a mk1 punto sporting a black one, I don't know if you have seen it, it's for sale on here and pistonheads because I hopefully picking up my tjet this week :), I work for fiat as an apprentice technician so I have serviced it and inspected it all over and it's all ready to go now, they have just got to valet it and supaguard it :)!

Lmaoooo really, how funny so there is going to be two tjets parked within yards of each other haha! Yehhhhh the mark 2 one :)! Ooo really I have a gsr on the mk1 the only thing with the gsr's, where there placed is proned to get abit wet because I noticed that your old cone was rusty, gsr's are great but I just don't want to be taking in water, how have you got on with your forged induction :)??

it was quite hot today but here goes..

Before:
12psi and 14psi overboost
154.0bhp 182.5lbs

After:
16psi and 20psi overboost
176.1bhp 211.3lbs after

not as much as i was hoping for but it does feel quicker especially in the higher gears.

Those are flywheel figures, you have at the wheel figures mate? Does seem dissapointing with all the aftermarket parts you have on it. :( Maybe you should have gone in search of an SS turbo.

the only problem with the at the wheel figure is its calculated losses on standard alloys and tyres which i dont have but its 165bhp at the wheels,

Still very fast then :p You going to any meets? Would love to see this in the flesh.

lol cheers apart from ace cafe i havent spotted any fiat meets in my area tbh

you say fast and i guess it is whilst still being very very manageable, really i just need a new car with more potential it stil feels very slow to me! that and i enjoy doing the modifications more than the end result!

Ive got to travel 118 miles to meets  Thats how far away I am.

Yeah you dont have to recon the turbo everytime you drive it, and it still has alot of practicallity. Its fun modifiying cars and taking pride in them. (y)

yeah ideally id love to work in a modifying workshop :D thats the dream

at the end of the day its a daily runner and also whatever i do its still only a 1.4 so its done fairly well to get this far without very noticeable lag

although im starting to think sports cat and downpipe and new boost sensors :) aswell
