Her Smart is a 13 plate and HH makes no noise at all. Has your HH always made that noise?

My (ex) Smart did, yes. I guess it was some kind of RF interference from the HH device.
Glad to sell it really although the main reason was the atrocious despicable state of the roads in Sheffield and how desperately uncomfortable the suspension was on them. The body is so light, the weight thereof doesn't allow the shocks to absorb the potholes, the drop or up-push transmits into the body making it buck and the ride uncomfortable.

Haha the roads in Wakefield cannot be very bad then, we have not noticed a bad ride! She loves it! Fast & nimble! (y)

You're onto week 12 now so any second you'll get an email saying it's in the country and that it takes 7 days to prepare it for delivery. Is it a local dealer in Wakefield where it's coming?

Still really enjoying mine although I did think today all the bleeping for door locking/unlocking is wholly unnecessary and way too loud.
I had a bright idea about the auto change too, for where I wanted to be ahead of the outside lane traffic in a parked up stretch of road so took it out of Auto 'E' and used manual change and it went off like a shot! Sometimes on Auto it'll change up too soon and you lose any speed you'd built up if you're light with the right foot from e.g. traffic lights. Manually does the trick and after no time you do get very used to the stick shift. Going from a Smart will be very straightforward for you. I soon learned in one of those that you don't need to move your gas pedal at all during gear changes.

One thing I noticed a few days ago but didn't write it down, was the paint code under the bonnet seemed to be different from the 166 it says in the brochure. Maybe a batch number?

Then thay carnt order it on there system, so done it on a central one! So prob lost 2 weeks there! And yes it's from Picadilly Wakefield

It's crazy isn't it - YOU'RE the guy paying for it so you should be able to have ANYthing you ask for. A factory build is from the ground up so ask for what you want.

(Still missing my mudflaps and confused about whose will fit. Allegedly Fiat don't make them, the Peugeot man said there are a lot of subtle differences after the body shell with headlamps/bonnets etc. between Peugeot and Citroen so I'm loathe to spend nearly SEVENTY pounds on the wrong 4 bits of rubber The arch shields are flimsy on the front and the steel arch lip is very small.)

I'm 100% sure that the shell of the vans are all the same.
The only things that are different are..............
Wheels
bonnet [different shape pressing for badge]
Rear door [hole pressing for badge]
And i believe that the others only get a flat panel above the radio, were as we get a storage tray,or clipboard that slides down over the radio
Also no glove box with door.

My van has a locking glove box! (Mentioned in the spec in the brochure and online in their description - something about room for a laptop - which is not true. My 15" will not go in with the door shut.)

I'll do an internal pic tomorrow for you so you can see what changes the last facelift gave the Fiorino. Inspired by your saying what changes between models there are, (I'd decided the bonnet would be different because of the Lion or Chevrons, forgot about the tailgate/doors but same reason I guess) I think I'll take pot luck on Peugeot mudflaps and order a set.

Interestingly, after the long wait at the service desk (under the Hyundai banner) and two or three trips back to talk to me, the spares guy's quote sheet for the flaps was titled "Model: 307 Restyl" so I hope he orders the correct bits when it comes to placing it. Should I ask for Bipper flaps or Tepee....

Seems the front and rears are different as the part numbers are 0000940380 and 0000940381 WG Mudflap Set. £32.16 per pair.

I thought the laptop thing went under the seat?
My glove box locks also, na,na na,na,na
Luigi

So, what was your mention above of no glove box with door? Under my seat there is a large box containing who knows what, with a wire bundle going into it. Under the pax seat is a space large enough for a visitor to sleep but since it's a folding one that space collapses to nothing when the seat's flat down.

Under the driver's seat in the (early) Smart car is a locking drawer- very useful. Must try to find out what that device is under mine. Maybe the hill inclinometer?

Here's the inside dash, my view.

BTW why is there a sound like an electric drill running under the bonnet when I open the driver's door after unlocking in a morning? Not a fuel pump I guess since I imagine that's in or next to the fuel tank - anyway it stops after about 5 secs.

Hi, If your van has the duralogic box, then its the pump powering up to work the system.....

Cheers Qube O.

Thanks for that - yes it does have the DuaLogic box (called 'Comfortmatic' on the Fiorino) and it's only a 5-speed whereas the Qubo has a 6-speed. Perhaps because the Fiorino is a commercial vehicle?

I wonder what the final ratio of the Qubo auto box is? Do makers never think what if the Qubo had 4-5 chunky people and their gear in it, that would equate to the load capacity of the Fiorino surely..

Hi Mad one,

Thats how they are now.....Fiat has stopped fitting the 6 speed box, shame really as at over 70 mph the engines only doing about just over 2000 rpm.

Cheers Qube O.

WHAT? If these vehicles are sold as being green, ergo economical, (an end-user benefit) then why do the manufacturer's think it 'smart' to remove something that makes the engine run more economically?
I hired a Vauxhall Vivaro at the weekend (a long wheelbase 'transit') and noticed (with its 6-speed box) how low the revs were at 80 mph on the motorway. It wasn't too high a gear even fully loaded. Words fail me.

Perhaps there should be more of a poll system by makers/designers to ask the public who actually use their products, what they want instead of guessing, then getting berated for the end product which doesn't quite fit the bill.

Well now......I will give you a A* for patience. More than I would have had........
Euro 6!!! sounds nasty.....more useless junk on the system thanks to the EU.

Mine has a EGR, but no DPF...........had the option to order one when specing it, but as it was a option back in 2009 thought lets not bother...........

One of my better decisions..........

Keep counting the days & days & days down.....will soon go......lol

Cheers Qube O.
