General My '76 X1/9 Project

I think I would like to put on some of those split type bumpers...I don't have any bumpers on now. I wired the blinkers throught the front bumper post (use yellow lenses, too). Check the pics of my car and tell me what you think about adding those bumpers. You can't see the bumpers in the last pic...I just like that photo It's in my garage.

I've had 4 X's and my Dad 2 (still has a Grand Finale) and there's a few in our club but I have to say that's one of the nicest I've seen. I'm a stickler for originallity but You have yours very tastfully done. Just enough mods to set it off. I'd leave the bumpers off.

Mcheatham, that is a beautiful car you have there. I love exxies in yellow!
I'm with Stuart on the originality angle and as for the bumpers, keep them off. That or early euro style ones.

That's one good looking X you got there mcheatham....I really like the naked look, but It will also look great with split bumbers in black. The Minilites finishes it off nicely.
A friend of mine has a yellow X like yours with black bumpers and ladder stripes and it's a real head turner.
Tell us more about your mods......engine and interior.

I have put the earlier bumpers on mine, no real drama to achieve, and it looks SO much better - the car actually looks in proportion now without the big old planks

Here's my yellow X. Its a 76, 1300 and pretty much stock. I'm just getting it finished, only a few more things left to do. You can't see the bumpers too well, but my preference is with.

Hi

This is just to let you all know I am the new owner of Hydrocats X1/9. I got it about a week ago and are planning to finish it for my summer car.

So far I had the dash recoverd and engine cover painted. The rear luggage compartment is neatly carpeted and I am sorting the electrics out now.

Will post pics later.
