Hi all! I have got a Fiat Scudo (2009) that has been quite troublesome. About a year and an half ago, after I got the break rotors and pads changed I started getting random fault codes. I took it back to the mechanic that fixed the breaks and they followed the codes up thinking they were genuine. This didn’t help. The van gets multiple codes at once - including ABS faulty, power steering faulty, air pollutant filter faulty, breaking system faulty, and so on. I had it looked at by another regular mechanic who cleaned metallic dust off the wheel speed sensor, and it didn’t fault for a few months. However, it has since started showing faults again. One time I blew the horn and all the errors popped up, it told me to stop and I lost all gauge readings. Sometimes it doesn’t start at all and shows all the errors on the screen and “STOP” and engine light. I’ve had it looked at by two auto electricians, neither could find the problem, one recommended I get the BCM replaced. There is no fiat dealer or mechanic in Tasmania so it is very expensive to get this replaced (I’d have to catch a ferry to the mainland). The car has always performed just fine from an engine perspective, however I’ve recently had some work done on the gear box. It also has a dual battery as it is a camper set up, which I can easily disconnect. I have tried draining the computers power to remove the codes and this does not seem to work. The van has also never faulted when at the auto electrician (over 3 weeks of time). Am I missing something? What can I do? Please help
