Does any1 out there know wot maybe wrong with my Multipla, as the steering keeps going heavy when trying to turn into a parking space, and goes back to normal when i up the revs, buts as soon as the revs go down again the steering again becomes heavy.

I pressume it is the power steering pump, hopefully not.
Dont have this problem at any other time.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

I'm not an expert on this but in my experience it's best to look for the simple things first.
Have you checked that the power steering fluid reservoir is full?
If not it may not pump enough round under low revs but could also point to there being a leak as really it shouldn't need topping up normally.
Worth a look :)

Thankyou for your response. (y)

In all honesty I havent even looked to see if there power steering, but i should imagine there is.
I will take a peek and see if it is and to see if it needs to be topped up.

Hi im new here only came across this when on google! My multipla is doing the same and i have just had it at a garage today and they ahve said that the power steering pump is worn so need a new one :(

I had a quote to have the steerin pump done and a new abs sensor and it was £560  so havent had it done yet. The abs sensor needs doing first as it failed the mot on this but didnt fail on the steering so leaving that a bit until can afford it.
I priced the pump up myself and at partco they are £140ish where as the garage told me £165 and then labour on top.
I have AA breakdown and repair cover so Im hoping I can get it fixed on that although I need to have it serviced before I can use the cover.
Ive actually got used to it now and just rev it a bit more when parking etc!

Just bought a genuine fiat pump off of ebay (well still gotta pay for it yet) brand new with 1 years guarantee for £50.00 so now i just gotta see where it goes.

Wonder if anyone on here has a how to guide?

Just phoned the seller up to pay via card, only to find out the seller is a FIAT MAIN STEALER, and the power steering pump IS a GENUINE Fiat part.

No Desira are a massive dealer and have allways been excellent , i recently bought a whole rear subframe from them retail price about £500 i paid £20:D.

I take my multi to them for it's service and warranty work. You sometimes have to fight to get some warranty work done but all in all they have been good to us over the three years since we got our car from them:slayer:They called me yesterday to offer a £25 MOT(y)

Phew, I thought maybe that they were dodgey with you saying "wouldn't be desira by any chance?", had me a little worrid in case they were dogey parts they were selling off or something.

Feel much better now i know other people have had dealing with them and everythings worked out ok.

Willl now be adding them to our Ebay favourite sellers.

Cheers guys. :D
