hi guys i recently rebuilt this engine after a cam belt failure ,usual stuff loads of valves belt kit etc .i had never heard it run as i bought it broken. i managed to get it started after replacing crank pos sensor as my elmscan reader told me to .it was spot on and cured the non start problem. ( on close inspection of wiring on sensor insulation had turned to a w!axy cosistency and wires were shorting on each other) weird ! and no apparant oil contamination or excessive heat on outside insulation.
Anyway.. i am getting a really annoying bleep every few seconds with "ENG CONTROL FAULT" flashing also MIL light flashing .My elmscan is not reporting any faults now ,so i suspect it is a code not recognised by it .Question is are there any common problem that would cause this .i have also replaced the cam sensor ,could it be cam and crank timing arent agreeing with each other .Car pulls really well with no apparant timing problems .any help greatly appreciated bleeping is driving me NUTS
