not having any experience of the 16v diesel engine i am clutching at straws but in a 16v car the torque and power are higher up the rev range. It may be an idea to see if you can find someone with a 150 jtd (or 147 equivalent) and comparing them on acceleration.

Rattystilo that has crossed my mind, and if it is how the car is thats fine.

But i have doughts and having fault codes etc back this up, i just want to make sure the car is healthy before i find a towbar! im only towing my trackbike so hope the stilo will cope fine

I managed to get my car plugged into a diagnostic machine today and it listed 3 faults refering to the lambda sensor?

I did not know diesels had them and could it be related to the power delivery?

Thanks

Most people know the Lambda Sensor by another name, O2 Sensor because thats exactly what it does.

The O2 sensor detects the amount of O2 left over after combustion, this helps the ECU maintain the perfect Fuel Air mix for best performance.

A faulty O2 sensor would effect power delivery.

This must be related, but i removed the O2/lambda sensor plug and found a small lump of metal/solder loose in the bottom of the plug, i removed this and removed the codes and after a drive no further codes!

The car does not feel much differnent to drive, but im just going to stop faffing around with it now and just drive it!(y)

Bloody modern cars!

Right the car get did feel quite right again today, after using ecuscan.

P2A00
P0053
P2243

No engine lights, but all codes relate back to this bloody o2 sensor. With a fatal signal listed against P2243 fault code. I can see anything wrong with the wiring to it. A new sensor is £140 its quite a lot of money to just guess and hope it will cure it.(n)??

Still goes well, mpg has dropped about 3/4 mpg and a bit smokey at higher rpm

what to do

if it is the 02 sensor gone it is worth biting the bullet and putting a new one on. i had it go on an Integra and the car eventually started juddering.

I dont really understand how Fiatecu scan works, but i clicked the lambda sensor option then started the car and was getting a reading on the live data section, the voltage was mainly between the 2 limits 2.2 and 2.4 volts i think, but it did shoot up to 2.8 after i reved the car.

I think i better take it to a dealer as im out of my depth!(n)
