Erm... title pretty much sums it up really... I'm stumped! :bang:

well you know where the map was on the SPI cento and the pipes that went to the TB.
should be similar on the mpi??
bear in mind ive never seen an mpi so im guessing here

infact post a pic up with no airfilter the next time you have the housing off and i'll add it to the engine type FAQs as i only have a stock photo :)

Sorry - not a great pic I know, but it's the only thing close at the moment...

The MAP on the spi is near the ecu isn't it?

Didn't me and Kris answer this a while back? On the MPI I'm pretty sure it's on the inlet manifold , R/H side looking from the front of the car, just to the right of the throttle quadrant thingy and slightly below it.

Sorry Fingers, can you dumb that down for me a bit - passenger side of the engine yes? Inlet manifold???? Throttle quadrant thingy??????

I'm lost :(

Yep, I told you that before :p

Its a combined MAP and air temperature combined into one unit (y)

Kristian

doh! :p

...I have a crap memory, and tend to forget things when I get stressed about them :p

Ok - gonna hopefully get round to this at the weekend, where does the wiring trace to from that connector? - what sort of item am I looking for?

*Help*

What do you mean, where do the wires go from the connector? THey run into the loom at teh rear of the engine, then directly to the ecu connector.

I have a pin out for the connector as well, but am off out now and not back till late. If you need the pin out i'll dig it out soon.

hmmmm... will take another look :p

Would like to add, what a great series of pics and useful info.

not the usual unhelpful comments here.

Now I know where the MAP is on my MS edition,I,ll be taking it off and giving it a jolly good dose of carby cleaner to see if it helps with my lack of power in intermediate gears...fine in 5th tho.

Nice one chaps.

RALPH.

After looking at the link,I think that should become a "sticky" for MPi owner referance.Even found out where the ECU temp sensor is too....FANTASTIC!!

EBAY!!! Here I come.

Unless someone already knows a good cheap source for MAP and ECU temp sensor parts for MPi engines :)

You,ve made my day.

RALPH.
