In theory, before remap, the filter kit alone should be worth about 10bhp  As proved by other Stilo owners

Currently Red Dot take the 1.9 8 valve JTD to a max of around 170bhp, I'm wanting around 150 (effectively a 20% increase over standard).

GSR do indeed make kits for Alfas, for your car you can find them at http://www.gsr-uk.co.uk/engineering/pag ... fa/147.htm

Whare did you get the info on the red dot map being able to achieve 170BHP on the standerd 1.9JTD 8valve unit?? ,cause to my expereince and indevours it cant!! get near 170bhp.

If you know something i dont please tell :)

Cheers Scotty

Guess I do then ;) On a Stilo site I frequent there's a Red Dot tweaked Stilo 1.9 JTD which ran at 167 which is (as near as makes no difference) 170 bhp  Does have the prototype GSR inlet kit on it though ;)

HHHmmmm,do you have a link to this, mine has been under the cosh, with angel maps, which are red dot maps aswell, and it wont go over the 150+ mark, it gets to a certain rev around 31/2 and it just cuts out, then comes back once the revs have dropped.they called it going into safe mode, aparently there is a something that cant be bypassed/well easily or cheaply that cuts the fuel at a certain point, and they tried two maps on mines above the 150 maps that they use.

Everybody i have spoken to in the tunning industry, all say it's full of more BULL and tall claims, than an inner city sheriff court on a Monday morrning,i have heard claims and since found them to be bull.

And i have heard a few others say it would cost lots of dosh to get they figures and there would be custom work needed.
And 17 BHP is a lot from an induction kit,but i was told thats what to change after the 150 map,a better bigger intercooler, top end exhaust system and the best induction kit you can find, and you will get some more BHP how mutch,i dont know

What proof is there to this?? dont get me wrong im not saying your definatly wrong, just that i have found and heard they figures are not easy to get and not cheap, i know of one and its in Portugal and the guy sets up JTD's for rally's and used to work for fiat, but that is just what has been said no 100% proof

But if there is a way to do it, i would like to know, cause i would have it done tomorrow :D

Cheers Scotty

I stand corrected  - 163bhp without the GSR inlet kit fitted - still damn impressive and mighty close to 170. Then again (he said covering his backside) I did say 'around' 170 bhp   Reasonable to assume that with the GSR kit fitted that figure should be knocking the door of 170

I'm told there are substantial differences between the Bravo and Stilo 1.9 JTD engine management systems - but haven't looked into it myself.
Think it's logical to assume there will be a few 'evolution' engine differences as well, probably nothing dramatic though.

Are there any details? of the tunning company ETC,and was it RR tested at an indapendant RR center,is there paper work to prove the figures. just as mutch info on it as possible would be great.

Cheers Scotty. I may be planning a transplant

I'll get in touch with the fella whose car it is - he's a fellow moderator on another site so shouldn't prove too tiresome

If you do go for the Stilo 1.9 150 Multijet engine with the 6 speed box - awesome engine ;)
