Hi, I have a car mount for my Nexus, you can search it in ebay; Adjustable Car Air Vent Mount with Dedicated Holder for Asus Google Nexus 7

But the problem is that the air vents in Multipla are not horizontal but vertical and I can't really mount it securely with that mount.
I would like to mount it somewhere near the car stereo because I can use the aux and the charger. Do you have any ideas, does anyone have their tablets mounted in Multipla?

Where I live no ones silly anoth to have a tablet in the car kids would nick it in seconds

I would take the tablet with me when I'm not in the car, I would use it for gps navigation, music and stuff like that. I have aux in on my car stereo..

Bodge something! :slayer: I made a mount using the standard air vent. The vent unit pops out easily and the grille unclips leaving a hole through the middle. I cut down a generic phone holder and used araldite to fix a bolt on the end. This bolt goes though a bit of wood (painted black) I shaped to fit and through the hole in the vent unit and the whole thing clips back in to place. No damage to the vent parts and can be returned to standard any time.
Power and audio leads are routed to come out from the glove box and so can be stowed away when not in use.

There's a fine line to tread here, blurred more and more by 'convergence devices'.

Tablets and phones can both be used very effectively as sat navs. Whether you see a sat nav as yet another distraction is a topic for another discussion. The fact that they can also be used to watch films, cruise the interweb, video call and a myriad other illegal-to-do-while-you're-driving things is down to the common sense of the user. It's also a bloody nightmare to police.....

What really worries/alarms/p**ses me off is the people who have them mounted almost directly in front of them on the windscreen (I actually saw one the other day that was on the screen directly above the steering wheel ), especially as so few users seem to know how to dim the screen at night...

Any visual distraction while driving is dangerous, especially at night.

I will probably try to do something with the cup holder, it seems like the ideal place.
And I know you can watch movies and all sorts of things on a tablet, but of course I'm not going to do that while driving, it will be used mostly as a gps navigation and music player..

Problem is qs, there are many, many drivers that will do.

It's a tricky problem, do you ban something just because some people will misuse it?

To take an extreme example, many people could quite safely walk around with a loaded gun on them, without endangering anybody . . .

If anybody is interested, I eventually bought this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Xenomix-S...099?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20d4135493

It's held in firmly, doesn't bounce around, and you can still use the cd player with the tablet mounted. Of course, if you want to change the cd you have to remove the holder first, but it's not a problem for me because I use the tablet for both navigation and music.

Here it is mounted in my car:

Safety issues aside - isn't it easier to mount a flexible arm with a suction cup onto the quarterlight window? I have done this and it always reminds me to take my iPhone with me as it swings out with the door...

I made this and it works fine for me:

It is easily removable. Now I use it with my Nexus 7 (mostly for navigation).
