finally have now got the exterior handles to open the sliding doors. did a quick test internal & external door handles both doing their jobs.
Final test lock the car; unlock the car try to open sliding doors with no result; using both the internal & external handles. Central locking lock & unlocks but eh deadlocks still seem to be activated. Door panels still off so I can still open the doors by gently pushing down on the top of the lead weight at the mechanism.
Any tips or how to deactivate the deadlocks if that is what this problem is.
Forgot to say that once you push down on "lead weight" the central locking plunger goes in a little bit further. Once this is done doors can be opened inside & outside all day if necesary but fault returns once you lock the vehicle.
Funny thing is that before I stripped the panels off this problem did not occur.
