I think that the new FIAT Large should be in two versions: familiare (staton wagon in english) and a berlina 3 volumes with 5 doors like Croma, taking the most significative features.
Big Fiats just don't sell. Fiat have always been good in the small car sector but no company exec will EVER be happy with a Fiat badge on the car and no company car buyers for the big companies (e.g. Tesco) will touch them as they are still blindly sticking to the idea that Fiats are unreliable.
As for current line-up:-
Stilo - Poor quality and Germanophile. Squint and you see an A3. "I know lads. Let's take a piece of cheesewire to the Bravo (which let's face it, is just far too attractive and gorgeous a car) and square off all of it's subtle curves and make the new car look like a shed! Antonio? Where's that cheeswire?" Still makes me weep that we'll never see a new Bravo again. :-(
Punto - WTH? Get some Japenese geezer to mess that one up did ya? Hyundai Getz anyone? YUK!!! Bring back the MK1.
Panda - Not really seen one yet.
Stilo Mutliwagon - I take it back. The 5-door Stilo is no longer the ugliest car Fiat have ever made. :-(
Barchetta - Gotta love that but prefer the looks of the MK1. Once again, Germanic influence creeps in. :-(
Idea - Never seen one TBH.
As for a high performance Stilo? Never going to happen. Why would a company with huge (and soaring) debts spend millions developing a short-run high perfromance version of the dredfully performing (in terms of sales before anyone shoots me down) Stilo? The Civic buyers wouldn't change as they think it would be slow and have far too few pointless gadgets so that they may actually have to DRIVE THE THING THEMSELVES. The GTI buyers wouldn't swap because they have no imagination and would be convinced it would break every 5 mins (which judging by the Stilo I had for a week recently, they are probably right).
Shame. FGS Make the Trepuino......(and bring back the Bravo...;-))
