hi there my mk2b is a 1.4 16v 6speed had high lift cams remaped and a multibranch..everything else is standerd.the car is so quick im thinking something else has been done any clues?

with just induction kit and a remap they reach 120bhp so its probably just got what you have listed

that was my first thot till i started beating my mates 1.8 20v and 106 gti turbos..cant work it out the car dose the 1/4mile in 14.98 lots of problems getting traction tho

that's not good on a N/A car means you are running rich an have unburned fuel in your cylinders causing bore wash that will lead to wear

Can't you trace the history through the previous owner?

Only hope it doesn't feel fast 'cos someone lowered the gearing!

ast 140bhp those engines are said to throw rods.

I'd say get it on a rolling road, at the worst you're driving a modded car without being able to declare the mods... = uninsured.

ive got the full service history..and done hpi check came back fine got a police check and came back good aswell..1 owner from new..on the rolling road next week the same guy that done the remap

Yep. Ask the previous owner what's been done to it. Mind you. that standing quarter time isn't that impressive -- best pop the engine into a Cinq............ and hope it doesn't come across any Cinq turbos.
