hello people,
little problem dont know wheater to worry or not.

my temp gauge rises till it gets to the center (normal), but the last to days it gets their, stays their a few mins then decides to lower a and rise again ever so slighty.

now the cold days are here is that normal because ive only had the car over the summer?

I wouldint worry about it as in the summer its more warmer as its in the winter now you maybe notice it dropping a little.. Just keep an eye on it though...

you probably have a dodgey temperature sensor, its located behind the no 1 cylinder(thats the timing belt end). it has a spade connecter on it and is screwed into the cylinderhead with a rubber cap over it.,.,

If this isnt the cause, check that you heating in the car works correctly? if not or its just lukewarm then it points to an air locked radiator with in my experience is very common on the punto but should be east to put right.,.

will be draining the rad on tuesday to put freash anti freeze in so ill be checking for air locks then (y) nice 1

you WILL get airlocks when you top it back up again, I would put money on it, if I had any:rolleyes:

likely a dodgy sensor, but possible for your thermostat to be getting a bit sticky.,
tis normal for it to either sit there and do nothing, OR move up and down a bit, which is kind of a loose precursor to your thermostat (valve part) going.
cost a fiver on ebay, and I'll be replacing mine soon, as its just NEVER getting upto tempreture!!! rad circuit is staying open:(
