MK2 Steering Column same as MK1???


If you seen the previous thread about the scum bags and me sorting the wiring out....

The steering column is bent to buggery

MK1 parts are hard to come by... and the only Uno I know of in one out of 6 scrapyards is a mk2...

Are the columns the same??

I think the basic columns are the same, but the difference between mk1 and mk2 is the indicator stalks. You might have to take a chance and buy a mk2 unit. Sorry I can't say for sure.

And yes, mk1 parts in scrapyards are almost non existent these days. About the only way to find mk1 parts is to contact people in clubs and those that own a stack of parts. Can't tell you the last time I saw a Uno in a general scrapyard

Yeah finding one is like rocking horse poop. There is only one MK2 in my local scrappers, and thats a dog lol

If it's the bit that the steering lock bolts to, then No they are not the same size, the Mk2 sticks out a bit more.
