Mk2 Sporting head unit upgrade possible?

Hi all

I want to change the head unit on my Mk2 Punto Sporting. The one with a subwoofer in the boot

Is this going to be an easy job or am I best just putting up with what I have?

It seems, after reading a couple of slightly related threads here, that various things may not work if I just change the head unit...

Advice welcome!

Also if it is doable, will I need an additional harness to couple the new unit with the existing wiring?
