They'll use bore guages or something similar. And you can bet that the process is very well monitored.

Old Harry (as everyone knew him, he passed away more than 20 years ago) used to build all the important non 2 litre Lancia twin cam engines. If you bought a crank in for checking, he'd sit you down in a corner with a magazine, sit down in his favourite chair, pick up a peice of paper, a pencil and a micrometer and sit with the bloody thing for an hour and a half measuring all the bearing faces for ovality. Harry built engines used to last, other peoples mileages varied.

Milliput, incidentally, is an epoxy modelling material..................

I bought one of the sets of morettes cheekycinq suggested (thanks mate!). Of course I'm not going to use their surround, but it was a very cheap way of getting 4 Cibies.

Surely the bottom end is prity high on the priority list and things to worry about.

I know for sure I'll be taking lots I measurements when I fit my rods, but then there worth quite abit more than yours, but thats not the point!

I know my rods are fine, i know the cranks fine, i know the blocks fine.. The only thing would be the caps being mixed. However with the new bearings that sit inside the caps, i doubt there will be an issue. The caps being machined rather than split will be near enough the same size wise, and if there is any difference im sure it would be milli thou... and for that the bearing would wear while running in...

If it makes everyone happy, il order a bloody kit haha..

Had some milliput recently haha...

As for the morrettes.. and my xe sei.. i did have to chop the slam panel... the xe top is too big..

Started to finish off my custom mounts for the XE...

The rear one as all of you have seen before, a standard sie mount, which has been modified...

It started off as a new donated one from Todger (cheers big ears)... And had the usual loose top thats broke away from the alloy...

With my last seicento i had issues with this cr*p design, so mashed a bolt on the top with a bit of weld and then screwed a nut on the bottom.. This meant when swinging off the bottom bolt, it woulnt pull the top of the mount apart and spin it around and around...

This time i asked my mate to weld it, just really so i could see his welding... As it was his last day at work, he welded it up, and even polished it... just to waste some time there...

The weld is bob on, as you can see by the heating on the rear of the plate. So hopefully the car will be done to the same standard.. If not hes getting a slap lol :p

Ive then attacked it with more PU to stiffen it all up... should be rather solid when cured :D

Obv the thread will be chopped down to suit when its on the car...

As for another bonus... ive had a tax rebate of £570 from HMRC... meaning, i have some funding towards a sei :D (and a new bottom end if it rattles... haha, had to get that in)

I really want/need a spotless shell, as i dont want to have to do any bodywork to it.. hence wanting something rust free and without massive dents lol..
