Might appear pricey but seems in very good unmolested condition. Not many as standard as this these days. Not sure about the matt paint on the boot floor though as it should be the same as the body colour (shiny black). Definitely check it out first, which is going to be hard for most as it's right the other end of the country :bang:

the mk1s are beginning to look very dated! that's what first struck me when i saw the pics! the tipo wannabe ones don't look quite so old! (well because they aren't but the point remains!)

tipo came after uno, they are the wannabees.......

as for dated, there's nothing quite like the crisp defined lines of 80's origami styling, i'll quite happily put my uno against any modern eco-box, and still find it the better, fresher looker, none of this sweeping headlights back over the wings, amorphous jelly moulding "forming". it's a classic 2 box shape on wheels, efficiently holding max possible volume in smallest possible footprint.

That's interesting. I wonder if it was only the black cars they did this with? And I wonder why they painted the inside rear in matt paint rather than gloss? Isn't your turbo completey resprayed though?

All my non turbo Unos are painted the same inside as the outside, as are all others non turbos I've seen. Anyone know the answer to this? Seems weird, but then Italian build quality isn't known for its consistency!

Oh yes Maddogmorg, the mk1 Uno was styled by a famous Italian car designer - Giorgetto Giugiaro - who also designed many iconic supercars: [ame]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giorgetto_Giugiaro[/ame]

Does the Tipo have such pedigree?!!! ;)

i didn't say dated was a bad thing :yum:.

The tipo came out in '88 and the uno was facelifted to look like it in '89!

The pre-facelift original Tipo took its frontal styling cues from the mk1 Uno/ Croma, with only the later facelifted Tipo adopting the Fiat corporate look along with the mk2 Uno and mk2 Croma ;)

1988 DGT Tipo below. Now imagine it with black bumpers and a black grill as per the bad Photshopped picture next to it. Also compare it with a 1988 Croma and a mk1 Uno (pictured). The Tipo is a Uno and Croma imposter! :p

Right lads, you are now upsetting me. How on earth can you compare a mk1 uno turbo to a Tipo?

The car you are talking about is mine. The insides came out the factory shiny black but after 21 years this is long gone.

Regarding the stonechip on the floor and rear tubs, this was put on after the car was welded to preserve it for the future, I didn't see the point in painting it gloss black because nobody sees it. The next person to see it will be the welder.

As for the car being dated!, they may well be but my god what a classic????

Is the mileage warranted? How long did you own it for? You've obviously done a fair amount of work to get it in that condition, got anymore details on what you've done? 9 Owners, shame it's not a 1-3 owner car would be a little more desirable.

who cares how many owners its had, makes no difference with a 21yeard old car, saying its less desirable is laughable, its a number on the log book which doesnt reflect the condition of the car at all,

cha40 - good luck with the sale it looks to be worth every penny

oldskool, your right mate, number of owners or mileage does not matter.
here is a question for you all.
What would you prefer?
Three owners from new, full service history and 76,000 miles on the clock, oh, and full off tinworm?
or!
Nine careful owners from new, 67,000 on the clock and mint.
????????

Whereas I agree that with old cars like the Uno the condition is far more important than number of owners, classic car collectors always make a big deal out of the number of owners on the log book. In that market a 1 - 3 owner car will be worth more than a 10 owner example, even if they're both in the same condition.

And at least we've established that the inside rear of the car should be painted the same colour as the rest of the car. A non standard matt finish suggests previous restoration work has already been carried out.
