A very nice and early (1986 'D' plate) Uno Turbo:

A 1988 Uno Turbo. A teeny bit chavved up and has been on Ebay a few times in the past few months for some reason. Definitely go to see before bidding to make sure it's not a pile of poo getting rejected when the winning bidders went to collect...

And a very straight looking 'E' reg 5 door mk1 with absolutely no info. in the listing. Shell looks in good order, and the blacked out windscreen pillars/ scuttle panel plus clear indicators suggests that this is a 60S model - 1116cc with a twin choke Weber.

the blue one? the hormann kit, you generally find it's a but marmite....i can appreciate it when it's done right, like on the blue, or say frostys mk2, but it's a bit too in yer face and then rip it off for a shy retiring type like me:p

There is a very scary quote in that first one "the car still has the set of 4 goodyear nct2 tyres that i put on new just before i sold it in 1994 and they still have very good tread!"

The tyres must be blooming rock hard, tyres over 5 years old are meant to fail MOT's now, or they should do as the rubber goes hard over time making them dangerous as tyre no longer performer as it should.

Otherwise nice car. :)

If the tyres were kept out of UV light (i.e. daylight) and not loaded by the weight of the car (which can cause flat spots) then it's possible the tyres could've survived in good condition. UV light causes rubber to perish, so kept in the dark and all should be fine. I once kept a set of Fiat wheels and tyres in my loft for ten years while I didn't have a Uno, then put them on a car when I got a Uno again. The rubber had stayed in good condition with no cracks, hardening or perishing!

Otherwise I'd be well worried about such old tyres being on a performance Uno as in the Ebay Uno Turbo above. Well spotted Aaron! (y)
