So the head is off... and is getting skimmed and pressure tested!

Anyway, once I took the head off and looked at the gasket it looked relatively clean with no clear signs of damage. some dirt/rust around the water holes. But the strangest thing was that 3 of the 4 pistons looked used as normal (blackish on the top) whilst the one furthest to the left looked brand new and unused (copperish colour)!! So looking closer at the rings on the headgasket I did notice some minor marks between the seals on the "unused" piston and the one next to it - hence I suspect pressure was leaking out of it into the one on the side causing the misfire I previously mentioned!

Now I hope that when it all goes back on, the car will be running like new :rolleyes:
