Hi all. New member although I maybe a little old. Learned to drive in a MK1 Uno 45 with bald headed driving instructor called Bob over 30 years ago. Never touched a fiat since. No particular reason why, just never happened,.... till now. Recently bought an old house in Germany and in the barn is a red lhd MK1 Panda 45. No rust anywhere. Parked up 20 years ago and left to gather dust. Plan is to keep it standard but use it. AFAIK. Nothing wrong when it was parked up. Family just stopped going to the house (lived in UK). Tyres flat brakes rusted on etc but otherwise......

Nice find.

Posting in the classic Panda section if you have any problems. Not so many left now.

Hope the restoration goes well.

Do all the usual things.

New - Battery, brakes, tyres, exhaust (probably).

Drain and flush the fuel tank. Its probably steel so might be rusty inside. You can get POR-15 tank sealant kits if needed.

Change all fluids but expect to need a new radiator (they corrode from the outside). If the hubs look dodgy just change them anyway. Having sat that long the wheel bearings are likely to need replacing.

Sump pans are noted for corrosion so check there before filling with new oil.

Good luck.
