5/30 with c2 rating or 5/40 wr as recomended by local dealer?Searced forum with no definate conclusion.Grande punto 1.9 mjet soprting 2007.

get whats in your manual, some dealers will recommend what they stock rather than whats fiat recommend

My 1.9 mjt states 5w-40 but that's not a grande punto its a mk2b punto 1.9 multijet

Right.Lets try to get this sorted once and for all.Manual says 5/40.HOWEVER i have contacted fiat uk customer services who got someone from there technical dept.to give me a ring back.He said that the oil grade required for this engine is now5/30 with a c2 rating and NOT as the manual states,the 5/40.Bloke was very helpfull and also said the c2 rating was important as well and not to mix it with other fully syn oil.Obviously recomended selenia 5/30 wr but said whatever brand i chose make sure it has the c2 rating and dont mix with a c3 rated oil.Hope this helps any others searching for that elusive definitive answer!
