Toby Carvery at Dronfield is great. (y)

Dom

Hi Dom, I think carverys are great ........... for Sunday lunches but I was thinking more about a country pub in a peaceful village setting and a little more central, especially if the weather is still holding. Mick has to travel from Worksop and me from Nottingham so somewhere in the middle area near to where Chas is staying would be fairest for all. If no-one knows of such an animal I'll have a google at it and see what materialises.

Is Chas meeting up Saturday evening too? Was I informed? LOL

I'm happy with the Hardwick Inn, if everyone else is. Having checked the menu they do light versions of some of the menu, which will be perfect for the other half. She will probably have cod and chips but if it comes and it's the size of a barn door she will only eat half of it.

Do we want to book a table? I'm happy to sort it if I know numbers. I can count up to six.

I'll be there. (y)

If she has scampi and chips, I'd happily have what she doesn't want. :D :slayer:

Oh bloody hell its becoming a group activity! That'll be nice though, more plates for Grimwau to clear!

My wife is a bit beige when it comes to food, scampi would be far too adventurous for her I'm afraid! She will definitely leave at least half her fish though and I usually end up with her peas/salad.

Maybe it was being kept a secret, as you never know, I could be someone from your dim and distant past coming to surprise you? or there again maybe just forgot!!

Maybe its going to be like a whole "this is your life" thing for me and you've gone and blown the surprise! Or more likely, I wasn't paying attention. That'll be it.

Loving the Hardwick Inn menu. Too much choice. I'm drawn to pie but it makes me sleepy. There's always something.

Mick, I apologise if I didn't spell it out in so many words but short of going back over all the posts to "prove it" :p at least I can say that it was insinuated, lol.

Mick, if you can book the table that will be great and six sounds about right. You and Chris, Chas, Dom, Liz and me. Should be a great evening, just let us know what time you think is good for the meal and we'll be there. (y)

Well I went back over the posts anyway and my conscience is clear. :D

Chas, Liz and I will be travelling up on Friday and staying at some watering hole so that she can have a full day shopping in Nottingham on Saturday. We'll be meeting up with Mick and Chris (nottsfiat07) hopefully on the Saturday night for a meal and a catch-up and it would be great if you were able to join us, obviously the first round would be on you, lol. Then on Sunday morning we could arrange to meet up and travel to Hardwick Hall together.

We can go through all the details closer to the time if you are agreeable.

I could tag along for a catch up, and propose a nice place to eat localish. :)

Half an hour away, http://www.tobycarvery.co.uk/dronfieldsheffield/ Best carvery you'll eat!! :D

Dom
