Afternoon everyone.
I have just bought a 1995 Swift Mondial motor caravan which is based on a 1995 Fiat Ducato 2.0 petrol.
Unfortunately there wasn't a owners manual with it  and I can't seem to get one from anywhere, phoned up a Fiat garage and was told it was to old
I need to know service things like, what's the spark plug gap, how often does the cam belt have to be changed (vehicle has done 49,000) tyre pressures etc., etc., and also does anyone have or know where I can get the owners manual from?
many thanks
Mike

Hi Dave, thanks for the link, I've just had a look, unfortunately the owners manuals are for much newer versions of the Ducato.
Unbelievable that a vehicle which is so popular and so many around in various forms, and yes you can't find the owners manual or what the gap should be in the spark plugs and cam belt mileage change.
Pulling my hair out on this one:cry:

Wouldn't say the 2.0 petrol is that popular. Haynes data book which you can download by torrent should have plug gap and other data. Its an 8 valve psa xu10 engine practically identical to that used in ulysse/806 if you can find a manual for those it would probably be of use.

ngk partfinder say BPR6E or BPR6ES set at 0.6mm
or upgrade to BPR6EIX same gap

Thanks for the info Dave, my feeler gauges are old and in thou of an inch, what would that be?
Do you know what mileage the cam belt needs changing assuming it is a belt and not a chain? the van has done 49000 miles.

Just need to find someone with the owners manual, can't believe it's so difficult to get hold of!

cheers

Google has a built in converter you just type '0.6mm to inches' its pretty intelligent you can type '47l to imperial gallons' or UK gallons or British gallons etc very handy.

Timing belt is gates 5413xs whatever the miles 5 years is the longest belt manufacturers would recommend.

Thanks for your help everyone, the van has done 49000 miles but is a 1995, what happens to the belt with age, does it deteriorate or rot or something? is the timing belt a DIY jobey?

Hi m4mike,

By complete chance - I decided yesterday to start (again) cleaning out my old camper which has been sitting for far too long. Anyway, not having the faintest idea (like many I notice who don't know about the peculiarities of this type - I too was looking for the oil filler cap).

Anyway, I saw your post and as I've got an F Reg 1988 2.0 Petrol Fiat Ducato Tall Version van, plus owner handbook and a myriad of other stuff that came with it, I wondered if I the stuff I have here is what you were looking for.

I'm about 45 mins into being a noob, who hasn't had the decency to say 'Hello' yet - but as it's 3 in the morning and the book happened to be next to me - here's NOT the pics as I can't post URL's as a noob.

You could try x2t dot com and /ducato1988 then /ducato1988p2 / ducato1988p3 ;)

Let me know m8.

Cheers,

RJ

Hi RJ, sorry only just seen your post, don't seem to get a email notification that someone has said something like on other programs!
Thanks very much for the offer, but my Ducato motor caravan is a 1995 2.0 petrol one.
Found out from previous owner that timing belt was last changed in 2007, so I guess it needs changing again, even though it's only done about 12000 miles since, hopefully I'll be able to do it myself, just need a few pointers?
Thanks
mike

Hi, moodrater,

By coincidence I downloaded camscanner today. I'll happily do as many pages as I can (though may take a little which to complete. And i'll run over post counts privilege thread (if I can find it) - just to check what privileges are accessible after set amounts posted (like 5 for the Insert URL's which even posting your reply with one in - I've had to edit)

Cheers

RJ

[QUOTE =moodrater;3262468]Nice one would be a useful one if you can scan it or use camscanner on android / iphone.

Ok - after what seemed like a good idea with cam scanner (I got 22 pages done and realised I may well not live to the end if the process at this rate!) So I download the entire 170 Meg Fiat Ducato Owners manual incorporating the mini mechanic guide etc. at £6.42 it seems a fair trade off and its seriously comprehensive.
I get the distinct impression from the download URL and the constant use of Pidgeon Engrish that this may not be the fully endorsed scan of the Ducato/Citreon from 82 onwards by the manufacturer ;-)
Can I upload 170 meg files here or shall I upload somewhere else?
Sorry for continued noob questions but hope the share of the manual(s) will offset!

Thanks

RJ
