Fault code Minikrypt error? I have intermittent padlock symbol on dash any ideas?

Sounds like immobilser issue, try spare key if you have one and make sure no other vehicle chipped keys are on same key ring.
If no obvious fault it may be worth getting good auto locksmith to check it out before you breakdown.
Depending how involved you want to get there are several posts on Forum on the subject, if you give details, model, engine Series, age etc.
