Technical mileage flashing; radio dead

Hi everyone, please help, I am new to the forum

I have a 2017 2dr Fiat 500 lounge. I went to start it up to discover the radio dead and the mileage flashing (as well the small timer on the dash). only 48699 miles but out of warranty.

I have replaced fuses, disengaged battery....read through these threads for a similar types of issues. I understand it's probably a communication issue between modules and once fixed will need a "proxy alignment". I don't know what to expect visa diagnostics or cost. I am two hours away from the nearest service/dealership ( I am on Cape Cod. Does anybody have any advice or knowledge as to what this may take to resolve this issue? Many thanks- Happy 4th!

With European built cars, you have described what we would term "Blue and Me" failure

Your ( Mexico.. ? build) car MIGHT be different.. But potentially has the same issue

It's a small control box that basically stays powered and drains the battery.. The mileage flashes to warn you it has detected an error, as the device has malfunctioned.. Messing with radio function

It's been posted and commented on before so I'm just adding my experience: TL;DR: Blue&Me stopped working, battery started draining - disconnected B&M, battery no longer draining. I own a 2013 Pop manual (1.2L), bought new. Current battery is less than 2 years old but for the last 8 or so...

In the US a Jeep dealer may well have the correct kit for a proxy alignment

But decide if you want the unit Repaired.. Or just Disconnected before paying for the Reset/ Alignment

Hi Patti, I have learnt a lot about this issue on this forum - these contributors know their stuff - i have flashing mileage and a drained battery - got new battery but still mileage flashing....as far as I understand (and as Vareseycrazy says) it's linked to faulty module, specifically the B&Me and the options are to have the modules repaired or replaced and or disconnect it - i am opting for disconnection - i believe the mileage will continue to flash but i should not have a drain on the battery - hope this helps!
