Cars are cheap at the moment and Ive come into a bit of cash. I value your opinion and want it now.

Possibly either

Astra VXR (maybe nurenberg?)

Or Astra 888 (sort of diesel vxr)

You guys got any suggestions? good car, bad car? i dont like the dash and central consol but so many mods for the astra you can buy a nice one. Obviously ill hit the astra forums for info but though id get a heads up here first. And this isnt defo its just slightly more a serious thought than i first though.

i think vauxhalls are nice on the outside, but ming on the inside. how much would one set you back? im not a huge fan of vauxhalls, but to be fair theres a nurburgring edition about 5 minsutes from my house and i cant help but stare everytime i see it, its a nice lookin machine!

Yeah the inside is ming, but not on the nurburgring, its stunning inside, but that might slightly out my price range. I wont be buying new, maybe 2 years old. budget, meh bout 12k ish could go more or less a bit.

Ive seen a few stunning cars in my price range. I can see where Beany's coming from. Im getting fed up with the derv. Want a petrol and power... Love the Fiats but my local has 6 1.2's and thats it.... and I aint ordering. They aint they exactly brightest bunch...

Buy one but it will torque steer you into a ditch. Id prefer a renault sport megane or a Focus ST. Both much better cars.

I like the ST but the astra is just somewhat more of a substatial car. if you know what i mean. Ive heard it torque steers but it cant be all that bad, im sure i could live with it. Megane, dont like the shape. simple as that. good car from what i hear thou.

Isn't the new Astra out this year as well? I woulnd't want to spend all that money on a car that will become an old shape/model in 6 months.

Look at Focus ST/RS, Mondeo ST, Leon's, S3's, Z4's etc

A friend's just brought a VXR and the inside is totally gash, I had a go (and I mean a very quick 2 mins in a car park) and wasn't impressed, hated the handling, didn't seem that fast, gearbox was notchy and couldn't get on with it.

Only thing they have going for them IMO is great looking car in 3dr but like I said new one out soon.

Just FYI you can get a mint, low milage Z4 3.0 M Sport for about £10-£11k now, someone I knows just got one, 21 year old, 2 years ncb cost him £1300 for insurance. I know what I'd rather have.

330Ci if you don't want a small car.

beany_bot,your cars nice and love the colour, just in a matter of interest, what years it,mileage, has it full history and how much you lookin for it.(y)

i liked the vxr astra especially with optional 19" alloys inside its well finished with good quality materials but it felt too confined and very dated looking for my liking as far as the interior is concerned and Arden blue is soooooooo common for my liking, there is a special arctic edition corsa vxr with a remus exhaust giving a engine output of 215bhp,it will be a very rare sight on the road in the uk as they are only 500 for the E.U

had one loved it no regrets other than letting it go! brilliant car drove focus ST, megane, CTR (new) when i was looking and the vauxhall grabbed my attention more feels like it has alot more power than the others and does torque steer but nothing you cant get used to or control! if was able to would love to have one again was a brilliant car, and the fact there bringing the new shape later in the year means the prices may get even better! good car for the money, better looking imo than an audi, ford, renault got mine new for less than an abarth also
