Ok so I've gone over to the darkside and brought an Alfa ..

Has a lot of miles on it, 140k but has a full service history.
A couple of minor hassles, split induction pipe so its loosing a little boost and the passenger side low grill is missing. Apart from that its a cracking car. Even though it loosing boost it put a huge smile on my missus's face and made mince meat out of our Multiwagon.

This is it, cost £1,020 which I thought was a bargain, no tax(ran out yesterday) but its MOT'd untill October(I think) ...

If its not too late, check the rear suspension transverse arms, 4 off and the rear strut bushes.

All good as far as I could tell.

Make sure shes had Waterpump owd

Cambelt and water pump were changed May 2010.

Well done. We had a 147 Mjet previously. Great car, will deffo put a smile on your face. Nice Lusso wheels as well and nice colour. Getting Alfa bits as you know are easy. Well done again.

Re: New Stilo 1.9 Multijet(150bhp) ...

I've been a member there for a while, the tuning section is brilliant.

Not planning to tune the Alfa apart from a remap to push the bhp up a bit to 180 ish ..

That sounds like fun. Looks like you got a bargain too(y)

The 150mjet stilo in classifieds I think is sold, Shame I was considering it & a remap close to 190bhp.

Oh well, as a consolation for my power cravings I have had my 115 stilo remap torque limiter increased by 30%.:slayer:

Re: New Stilo 1.9 Multijet(150bhp) ...

Nice motor there Shadey :)

I have always liked the 147, nearly bought one once but the deal fell through in the end, mind you it was a 2.0lt twin spark petrol lusso not a 1.9 JTD. The missus definitely has a good taste in cars mate, enjoy (y)

EDIT: Make sure you still come back to this Forum for a chat and a catch up from time to time ;)

I really wanted a 150bhp Stilo but she is a lovely car, well worth what I paid for her. Really looking forward to getting the pipe replaced and one of Nick's remaps on it.

I think it was one of her girlfriends that pointed her in the direction of the Alfa. It belonged to a friend of a friend of a friend so they arranged to go out and all meet at this friends house so she could have a look at it. She's always liked the look of Alfa's and after an incident involving our Stilo not long ago she really wanted to move on to a different model of car. Once she'd seen it I knew it was only a matter of time. Even though its loosing about 30% of its boost(according to FES) due to a split induction pipe its still a very quick car and when she passed me on a local stretch of motorway I could see the big grin on her face so I knew it was time to get the wallet out.

Its quite basic inside compared to our Stilo but it easily out perfoms it.

I'll be keeping our Multiwagon so I'll still be here although my time may well be shared between here and the Alfa forum from now on.

i have a decat pipe for one of them in my garage. Nice looking car. Lets see a side view.

There's no tax on her at the moment so she's stuff up a corner on my drive but I'll park her in front of the house in the morning a take a shot of the other side. Got to be careful, my house sits on a main route between Walsall and Wolverhapmton, every other car that passes is Old Bill.

Re: New Stilo 1.9 Multijet(150bhp) ...

rattystilo ...
As promised, here's a few shots of the other side of the Alfa ..

She's a Alfa Romeo 147 JTD MJet Turismo and is completely standard so:

BHP is 140
Has 6 gears
Top speed is 135mph
0 - 60 is 8 seconds
Average consumption is 48mpg

But I plan to remap her to to about 180bhp, I've already pulled the file from the ECU and emailed it to Nick so not long now .. :D

Fortunately if you remove the shell whats left is very similar to a 150bhp Stilo so working on it should be easy.

Edit.
This seems to have turned into an Alfa thread.
Prehaps it should be moved to the Non-Fiat section and relablled "New Stilo 1.9 Multijet(150bhp) / Alfa 147" .. ?

The Alfa will definetely keep you happy for now Shadey, especially being a 16v over an 8v and with 140bhp to play with too. The car at least did belong to someone you know so it should be safe and sound, it seems that it has been looked after from what you stated.
The 150 multijet stilo`s do pop up now and again but I think your better off with the alfa to be honest mate, the performance potential is better with the 147 lusso, plus i think its a prettier car over the stilo, just my opinion :)

Nice choice of car. I have a 147 JTD Lusso aswell as the Stilo and I love it. So much fun to drive and the excitement of waiting for the next warning to flash up on the dash is quite good too :)
