Midlands Italia logo/sticker design: yay or nay...?

After a debate that seems to have gone on as long as Midlands Italia has been in existence (ooh: all of fourteen months...!), we finally have a logo design that:

1. I like (which is very important, me being boss an' all...);
2. I think looks very professional (and, therefore, hope that others will, too...); :slayer:
3. fulfils the design brief -- which is simply (as recently thought up by design guru FullMetalPanda...) to fill the vacant slot left by tax discs no longer being necessary, from October 2014.

I also think we should get this made up as an internal window sticker, too -- as well as on paper, as above... -- although I know this won't be cheap: so aim just to go for an internal version, to begin with. :chin:

Thanks to everyone who helped come up with this -- especially chips1 and Zeewulf. :worship:



The poll is self-explanatory (and private -- so no-one can see who voted for what...); and will close in a couple of weeks -- so that we can actually get around to producing these in time for the summer FF meets (e.g. Stanford Hall -- as I think Brooklands may be too close...).

Has anyone checked the spelling? FIAT is Italiana Automobili whereas the badge has it spelt Italiane. I know why you have spelt it like that, but not whether it's actually correct in that context - I think we need to be sure if the badge is going to contradict Fiat's own spelling.

At the risk of repeating myself - are we absolutely sure that spelling is correct in that context? If it's been checked maybe someone can confirm so I don't keep fretting about it! :worship:

babbo_umbro -- as the first Italian speaker on the Forum who comes to mind, would you care to comment, please, on the spelling on this logo -- as I share Palio's concerns.... :worship:

Personally I don't like that design as it's uneven - the one with writing underneath would be my choice as it looks classy and is easily readable

I know what you mean: but I think the tax disc replacement idea is so good, that we need to go with something circular. Maybe we can get chips1 or Zeewulf to suggest a few font variations...? :idea:

Edit: if you centralised Midlands at the top of the circle that would be much better IMO :idea:

Agreed. I think this would help tremendously...! (Can whoever submits the font variations, therefore, please incorporate this...?)

Tax disc-sized, initially -- on paper -- as tax discs will cease to exist, in October. (Is it "discs" or "disks"...?) With, at the same time -- if we can afford it (because of the multiple colours...) -- an internal window sticker, of the same size, that can be easily removed. (Anyone who has a National Trust sticker in their car will know what I'm aiming for....)

If anyone has any thoughts about this -- or knows any good and friendly printers -- please let me know; or post a comment, below...! :worship:

Edit: minimum is 100 but if they were self Klingon ones I'd have a bucketful at the right price - say about 12.......

Have voted a qualified yes. If it can be tidied up with either Midlands at the top (or Midlands & Italiana/e each side as second best), that's fine - I don't like it wonky and it's putting me off - is that OCD??!!!

Apologies deleted all of previous post, my father in law is a printer so I am sure if i ask hime nicely I can get a good price depending on final quantity, as mentioned before it would be on a white static rather than clear

Oh heck it looks better but still doesn't look right! If it's easy, can you try Midlands & Italiane on each side (same number of letters!), with the Automobili round the bottom?

If it's difficult just ignore me & I'll go away!

What was the name Bob? I think I've arrived late with this! I find the font difficult to read but assumed it had been agreed when I was elsewhere?

Looks like a spider on crack , can't both words be up the same way? Midlands curving up and Italia curving down

I think you need a much simpler font -- probably wide-ish capitals/block letters -- to make this work.... :idea:

I agree with the tax disc idea in principle,
BUT you'll never see the text unless your acting like a traffic warden,
