Ok, here are two ignition tables that Jim, a mastersquirter from msefi forum prepared for us, based on my info on the 1242 8V turbo'd engine:

Ignition table for 9.8:1 CR

Ignition table for 8.0:1 CR

Waiting comments from anyone who tries it.
iv just triede the 8.0:1 cr table on my cinq, noticed it idled smoother and seemed to run better with no det which i was getting if i turned the boost above 0.5 before.
also the exhaust seemed to pop on deceleration:eek:
but it only lasted about 10 mins, now theres a loud whining noise and no boost:cry: guessing thats the turbo then lol

ill get the spare turbo on asap and ill post up on how its running

any ideas.

got TPS, CTS, IAT, RPM etc all working. get that error when firing up MT though. i dont know what it means.

fuel pump won't prime either.

Probably forgot to set MS-II at config. Run Megatune Configurator first and set the correct data there.

I got that (iirc) when I loaded jims msq files. It was because he used a slightly different software version, after I saved it it was OK.

Good Luck with it Arc, hope it goes sweet and easy :)

i can't remember which software version i have

il play around with it tomorrow, thanks for the tips guys :)

i was sat in the car before, pressing the throttle and watching the readouts on the laptop change. aceness. hehe.

Tis fun :)
I think Jim must have a beta version latest! As I loaded the most uptodate available at the time :) 2.25 ? I remember he was thinking of reverting because they were all (other squirters) getting this error when they used his maps.

reeet.

got the 9.8:1 spark map on there. sorted out communication issues with the ECU, LC1 is setup and working.

just a minor issue of the fuel pump not priming when i turn the key.. is that normal - i dont know if i have faulty wire somewhere, or do i need to tell the ECU to switch the pump on?

nearly ready for launch..

It should prime afaik, and keep doing so if theres a fault :D

You'll know soon enough when you start if you have fuel though, but I'd be checking the wiring and config now tbh.

i'm not to hot on the MS myself yet though TBH lol, so good luck with it (y)

ive found a setting, that i can set it to prime. or run always.

if i disconnect the FP wire from the relay board and wire to a +ve feed the pump kicks in and sprays petrol out the regulator.. minor wiring fault to trace. fun fun :)

MS gives a prime pulse of 2 secs whenever it turns on.

If the FP does not prime when you turn on the key, it's probably because you feed permanent +12V to the MS and stays always on. Check it.

its not that. i must have a fault on the wire from relay board to ECU. easy to sort. just didnt wanna start opening the loom only to find MS wasnt meant to prime.

but wait..it clicks, and then clicks off after 2 seconds. i think i know what it is!

now i've lost the signal from the TDC sensor.. meh.

what settings have you guys used in wheel decoder settings?

I'll send the squirt settings I was using over to you on on wed morning...promise :) You'll need to check the timing manually but it shouldn't be far different from mine. My settings were for the 16v 1.2 with 4 branch and supersprint exhaust and it was running fine until the engine wiring loom started to mess up. Turned out there was more damage from the fire than I thought.:( The cold starting needs checking thoroughly as I had no cold start mechanism and it was hassle to cold start.TBH I regret moving away from megasquirt as I was very close to completion. Trouble is in finding support in the 'professional' community.

Good luck

thanks dave.

i've got someone coming over on wed evening who's done a few MS installs - so with nicking some of your settings, and him knowing more about these ecus than me..hopefully we can get it running tomorrow.

found this thread with google, regarding the triggers:

got these out of punto manual, seems to be the same scheme for all FIRE engines & 1.4 GT & 1.6 8v

with the avail excel spreadsheet it should be like this

tooth 19 aligns to tdc when first missing tooth aligns @ 114 deg before TDC
so
trig pos A should be 9
return A 17
trig pos B 39
return B 47
with a stock trigger angle of 60...

You'll have to ask arc as he has my files at the mo
But
You don't need to worry about all the details above all you need is to set it for 114 and check with a strobe.

Mine was running
trigger angle 63
with additions +45 giving a total of 108.
This seemed to be smoother than 114 which was 69 +45.

Interestingly when I checked my files they were very close to the settings above (returns etc) however when you set your trigger angle then megasquirt does the rest!

Shame I've ended up using DTA

daves settings are:

Trig pos A: 3
Ret: 13

Trig pos B: 33
ret: 43

using them settings i get a stable RPM reading, but i've not had the car fire yet. Need to check my valve timing isnt 180 out!

Dave, when u say check with a strobe - what do you mean, i know bung it on no1 ht and then point at the crank wheel.. but i don't know what im looking for. I've never used a strobe before!!
