Hi All,

Week long owner of an '08 Bravo 150 Sport MTJ Diesel with Blue & Me. I have a SanDisk 8GB USB thumbdrive that I use to play music on in "shuffle all tracks" mode. Tracks are listed under a folder representing the album, and that is stored under a folder for the artist - pretty conventional stuff.

Today I noticed that occasionally B&M would get stuck on a particular track - "MEDIA PLAYER" would then dissapear from the radio display and the backlight would go out. This would then come back on after a few seconds and the car would sometimes skip to the next track (or I would have to do it manually).

Is this B&M finding a track it cannot play (i.e. a DRM track or a track that is not a valid MP3) and throwing a paddy, or something more sinister like an electrical issue? I cant reproduce the issue by navigating directly to a given track as all of the tracks that this has happened on so far have been tracks that I am unfamiliar with and do not know what folder they are in.

I get the impression from reading other threads that B&M is a bit buggy and if this is the case then thats fine and I can live with it - if my stereo is up the duff I'm more concerned however.

Thanks & regards,

Andy

Disconnect the battery for 15 minutes, that usually solves most of Blue&Me related problems. Also install the latest Blue&Me update, if you haven't done that already.

OK thanks, will give it a go if it happens again!(y)

Cant say I'm overly impressed with B&M, the library would only allow me to select tracks from artists beginning with either a number or the letter "A" today (all other artists and their tracks had simply disappeared). No amount of taking the USB stick in and out/turning the engine on or off would force B&M to rebuild the library. Have had to resort to formatting the drive again.

Feel like I shouldn't have to disconnect my battery for this to work properly.(n)

If its a particular song the mp3 is most likely corrupt or poorly formated, your computer might be able to play the track all the way through but other devices may only get part way or not even play it at all.

Another problem is the way people name files using crazy symblos and too many characters.

Then there is cheap or even fake USB sticks that do not function very well/consistantly.

Im not trying to say theres nothing wrong with B&M especialy because I have never used it but from a general computing view those are a few points to consider.

Thanks for your reply.

B&M would only display artists beginning with an "A" or a number earlier and I've had to format my drive and copy everything back to it to get B&M to re-index all of my music. Out of my 8GB of music it would only let me access about 100MB.

I've got a brand new genuine SanDisk stick and also an unbranded 2GB stick. Appreciate your comments though as I agree that all of the above could contribute to problematic playback.
