Hello

I have a real emergency. My dog, having just returned from the vets is locked in the boot. It will not open. There must be a way of remote opening the boot without having to break the rear window.

The car is a 2004 stilo estate. Its the one where there is no key insert on the boot. The one with a soft touch feel pad on the door handle which senses pressure and unlocks.

It would be great if I could access the boot from the rear door / seat down but I have a dog guard there which is tied in with the seat so I cant lower it.

Any ideas would be very much appreciated. The dog is very ill, we've been told this may be her last night and I don't want to have to break a window to bring her in from the cold.

Please help

no spare key I take it?

Can you get in the back seat and man handle the dog guard out of the way, the damage can be fixed later worry about your dog for now mate.

Sorry I can't be of more help

I take it you have tried locking and unlocking the car via the key. If the central locking loses voltage for any reason (usually if you disconnect the battery) the default setting is for the tailgate to lock.

Sorted it. Got in by tapping rear door handle with a hammer. I guess the mechanism must have stuck.

The dog is out and on the sofa. At just under 14, Lottie is getting on for a Greyhound. She's tucked up and thanks all for their suggestions :)

I have got the same car.. On you're key there are 3 Burton's
If you push the lowest button for about 2sec the booth will open if pushes 2 times quickly the booth window opens

Than you can also check the status of opening your booth on the menu in your dashboard booth ....... On/off if it's on you only can open your booth with the bitten on your key.

I hope it helps you

remove battery , lock and unlock , wait soem time , press button on fob , wait more time , open top window and the try lower boot hatch .

it has a mind of its own , i have to try all sorts.
