I have a dodgy master cylinder in my 84 UNO 70s, pedal goes to the floor when the pedal is being pushed, like when sitting on a hill at the lights!!!

So I pulled it apart and found the culprit, a worn rubber seal, I can see a wear mark about .5mm wide.

The Master cylinder from my 89 and 90 parts cars are different, seal diameter, brake pipe take off points. I was going to use the seals from a good one in the original master cylinder, or use a different master cylinder, pipe works needs slight re-routing, will there be a problem with this.

Maybe I should just get a kit for the original Master Cylinder, but the cap that holds on the spring to the piston has come off inside the cylinder and does not seem to want to come out!!

I just got myself a refurbished one. Compared to the time you waste, to fix one by yourself, you can make more money in your daytime job.;)
Besides, on safety relevant parts, I leave refurbishing to people that do that job every day and have proper tools and new parts.
