You're right, but i've managed to buy a full Marea Weekend 2.4TD with all the mechanical and electrical parts intact!
All that my mechanic has to do is... waste a few days (probably 1week or so) doing the transplant on my little bravo
Do people there like driving through deep puddles?
Sorry but my english is a bit weak... what does that mean?
thats the tip of the iceberg, what you do about engine and gearbox mounts, driveshafts, gear selector and linkages, etc etc etc is up to you, but the wiring loom differences are almost always the most difficult and time consuming stage, and often the cause of problems once fitted.
I'm going for a full transplant, including the bigger brakes, drive shafts, gearbox (obviously) and everything that's bigger than the bravo stock parts  including the rear axle with disc brakes, mine doesn't have them...
The only thing the donor doesn't have are the dials... but that's a minor fault
The 5pot is a good project providing you can get enough of the donor car. It's an extra 25bhp and nearly 100Nm torque? Certainly worth trying in the JTD form.
The 2.4 is a 125hp and 265nm, much better than the 1.9TD100 with 200nm...
Transforming mine into JTD form should be the real nightmare, even the interior loom would have to be replaced... and it's very very very dificult to find a 2.4JTD in any scrapyard here...
Monday will be the starting day, the Marea has arrived today at the workshop and I can't wait for the process to begin... or even to end:slayer:
Here are some pics of the 2.4, except for the looks, it's almost in mint condition
Front brake calipers, just begging for Brembo Max brake discs
Rear axle
And that's it... tomorrow i'm planning on having higher quality pics, since the workshop is almost 30miles away from my house :yuck:
Sorry for my bad english
Cheers
