Hi
On my way home doing about 60mph a red warning light came on which is I think the fuel injector warning light?. However car just cut out, will not start and had to be towed home by the AA. AA man checked the compression and found no compression in all four cylinders, when you try and start it, it seems to turn over quickley and doesnt make the normal noise!

The car is a Marea Weekend 18 petrol on a 1997 with only 25,000 documented miles. I have just had the cam belt replaced within the last two or three months.

Any body got any ideas, apart from sounding expensive!

Thanks

Claim the garage that did it for you...

Sorry to say but does sound like the cambelt, did they replace the tensioners? You have a good case against the garage, get onto them asap, you could also prise back the timing belt cover to see, it should be obvious if the belt has snapped.

Unfortunatly as its an interference engine design it means bent valves as the valves hit the pistons.. so new valves, gasket sets and timing belt kit required.

been a few of these recently do a search to see what happened and what the results were.
