Technical Map sensor

Hi
I`ve just been looking at the crash damaged punto in my drive and have noticed it doesnt have a map sensor any ideas why not?
Also there are a couple of electrical connectors on top of the cam belt cover which i`ve never noticed on my cinque.

sensors on the top are cam phase sensor, the later Sei have them too.

It should still have a map sensor though, check all the vacuum lines!

If it's an MPI jobby, which I'm suspecting it is with the cam sensor, then the MAP sensor is built into the throttle body / intake manifold iirc.

It`s my spare 1242 spi from a 1999 punto,
I`ve found the map sensor it`s under a plastic cover on the bulk head

P.s would a punto 75 conversion not require a map sensor then?

Punto 75 uses the same MAP sensor as the centos. No need to change anything else than engine, ECU, fuel pump and the spi injector. Cable harness is compatible.

As pointed out, yep it will still need one. The MPI manifold & ecu setups on the 75 and late model 1108 Seis / 1242 Puntos are very different though.
