can someone please help!! I had engine fault light come on, RAC checked Map sensor which was soaking wet. Garage replaced it, but today same fault and sensor it wet again....dont think sensor is at fault. many thanks

What engine is it?
Why did the RAC go for the MAP sensor? Was there a map sensor fault code stored do you know?
It would make no difference if the MAP sensor was soaking wet as it is totally sealed safe and sound in a solid gel but I'd want to know what it was covered in? oil, water? and why it was so wet
Have you had a problem with overfilling the engine with oil?

Hey, the fault code was stored and rac guy showed me his laptop which stated map sensor. i only got car in dec 09,so havent filled with oil yet. i believe it was water. took it to garage today and same fault code, but they couldnt fix it. i really like car,but the reason i got this was my clio gave me engine trouble!! Im at my wits end. thanks

Sorry again, its also started to stall when im near a stand still. hope it helps.

Odd though it seems I would focus attention on the throttle body valve. A P0105 MAP sensor circuit fault code comes up when there is a mismatch between what the MAP sensor is saying and the throttle position sensor. Example- throttle position sensor says it's at idle but MAP says it's sensing near atmospheric pressure so throttle must be wide open so it's saying "This can't be"

So I would carefully clean the throttle body valve (See Stilo Guides up above) and do a throttle relearn ( do a search for how to do that)

After that, if the problem is still there, then it will need some electrical diagnostic work on the thottle body TPS (throttle position sensor) and MAP to find out why it's seeing a bad mismatch
