manual boost tee wont work on Fiat 500 TA

hi all,
I have a spare manual boost tee controller in my garage, so I went and try installing it to my fiat 500 TA.


sadly to say it wont raise the boost, I loosen the boost tee and it was making 6psi at most, then turn it up, it makes no boost. I think the ECU is stopping it from boosting thinking there is some error.
however there was no error code on it.




uninstall it and now at normal 17ish psi at mid revv range. drop down to 10 ish psi at high revv.


will try TMC motorsport tuning box next.

The old "pressure bleed" boost tees won't work on modern engines. The ECU controls the boost. On the simple sytems boost pressure acted directly on the actuator. Now pressure is sensed electronically and the ECU opens a valve to control the actuator. All a tee in the actuator line will do is slow the response of the system and cause the ECU to open the valve more (up to it's limit).
