Thanks for the pic Dave. I have now begun to think that the place I got the quote from sound like a good price, but I need to be sure of a few details, like I don't want the exhaust to stick out too far @ the back 'cos I think it looks ridiculous, & think I might want a join like yours rather than welded into the pipe as I've heard that mating stainless & mild steel is not a great idea, so I'll confirm what the guy had planned.

I'm now struggling to decide how loud I can cope with & therefore if I should ask for silencers or not. I've not heard many modded systems - already have a GSR 40mm TB & induction which has livened up the noise, but have begun to notice that although I like hearing my induction/emission noises, passengers find it frustrating.

I am tempted to go for maximum flow, maximum noise & maximum power, but then as a daily drive that I tend to rev too much anyway, I don't want it to appear to be too Chavvy!!!

It depends on the back box how loud it is really I've been running 40mm TB GSR plus other stuff on my Cinq, and most of the time it's also been running a decat pipe

I have Supersprint Manifold then CSC from the cat section back and it is nice and quiet which is just what i wanted, a nice gentle burble at low revs and a rasp higher up the rev range.

I was saying in Dave's post i thought adding the SS manifold actually made the car quieter, either that or I didn't have to push it quite as hard to get the same results

Reply in right thread now;)

Are the 2 holes either side of the cat for 2 Lambda Plugs, if so why did you not use the one in the mainfold - or are you not using a Supersprint Manifold?

Sorry Allenhellen, wasn't being awkward but it wasn't my thread originally & I figure this one has more useful other info (not that this one is mine either!!!).

OK, now I'm lost all of a sudden!!! I know that I need 2 to measure pre & post Cat, like there are on my car.

I only thought the SS came with 1 which I was planning to use for the pre-cat reading, if there are 2 on the 1108 Spi SS manifold then I will use the one nearest to the cat, or is there a reason I should have points fitted either side right next to the cat?.

I then plan to have a fitting inserted after the cat (which on my Mpi will sit in the same place as it should on the Spi.

P.S: Allanhellen - I meant the question for Dave, although I forgot the pic is from another post, have been getting myself lost by coming back to the PC & stupidly not refreshing the screen before I type!!!

I don't have a clue what a wideband Lambda is in comparison to *narrow band/normal*?

My SPI Supersprint manifold has 2 boss's one at the front where the standard Lamda is fitted and a second boss further back under the engine that can have a second sensor inserted in case it ever goes on a rolling road for set up but most of the time this is blanked off i presume all SS have this?

To convert from an MPI type to SPI you would use the pre cat sensor in the front boss and you would need to extend the wireing on the second sensor so it goes to the new boss you will have fitted directly after the cat.

I'm not sure but as daves is on a punto i think the cat sits in that position anyway so that is where the boss's are normally
